UDO Super Gemini Unboxing

- I'm changing my synths once again. The Hydrasynth 49 key has been my master MIDI keyboard and synth for the studio. Well no more. I'm replacing my Hydrasynth AND my Polybrute with an UDO Audio Super Gemini.
This synth has a beautiful, 5 octave keybed with Polyphonic Aftertouch, so it beats out the 49 key Hydrasynth, and is shorter than the 73 key Hydrasynth deluxe. And it sounds as good (I think better) than the Hydrasynth or Polybrute.
Complete hands-on control of all parameters with no menu diving. So amazing.
@udo_audio did an amazing job on the Super 6 and have outdone themselves and practically everyone else with the Super Gemini.

Best purchase I ever made. Got mine three weeks ago and it's taken over my life. You're going to love this machine. It's a spiritual experience once you really start to connect with it.
Already my favourite instrument ever. Just uploading my first video exploring it.
Also forgot to mentiion that this has also taken over my life.
I can’t wait anymore to receive mind! Beautiful synth
Thank’s for sharing this magic moment ✌🏽
I'm glad I did.
Here in Australia we don’t have the Super Gemini here yet but mine is on order and should be here in April with any luck, I have a spot for it already can’t wait such a great synth.
Hopefully it arrives speedily. I'm sure that you won't be disappointed.
One of those desert island synths… Sublime.
Absolutely.
you could get some sticky back viynal wood for the sides of your kayboard
I've actually decided that I love it as it is. Once my buddy noted it looked like a Star Wars Imperial Secret Service console I was hooked.
have you been reading the comments from some SG owners stating that their units are buggy? it was even addressed on the official UDO Forums. have you experienced any problems with your unit? i've been holding off on buying just because i want to wait for about a year to see more reviews.
There are definitely some minor issues that I'm sure will be addressed in future firmware. I think I've opened 7 support tickets, but a couple were user error.
If you want bug free I suggest you wait. But I don't really care about the little bugs because a) I love this thing so much and b) I'm sure they will be addressed.
Mine is still on pre-order@@EdgetoneStudios - Some of the issues references are specifically for 110V powered synths, and it's a hardware issue. Like xiaixia5 I was wondering if you've had any of those issues. I believe the fix is returning the synth to UDO in some cases.
@@RandoCalglitchian no power issues for me.
Problem with almost all synth rollouts. I typically try to wait until the first update patch to come out before getting any new releases.
@@entropybentwhistle So far the issues are minor, so I'm not concerned that the firmware will eventually need updating.
Can I ask you where you buy it? Which store? ✌🏽
I ordered through Nitelife Electronics in Vancouver. They had two coming in, one was already sold and I got the second one.
And how long did you wait before receiving it? THANKS
@@marcopernot5839 just a week because it was already in North America on it's way when I placed the order. I got really lucky I think.
Yeah really lucky! I bought mine on December 20th and Moog Audio told me they should receive 5 copies in the first week of April! 🤞
@@marcopernot5839 Are they still saying April? Nightlife said this was their second order. The first two sold out before they arrived as well.
how much was it to buy
About $6800 CAD. Pretty Ficken Expensive.
I'm selling 3 synths to pay for it.
@@EdgetoneStudiosmay I ask what 3 Synths are you shedding to purchase this, curious
No problem. A Hyrdrasynth 49 key that was my master controller due to the polyphonic aftertouch and beautiful keybed, my Polybrute (which sounds amazing, but actually the menu diving and matrix layout bug me more than I thought), and my Akai AX80, but that's more to make space for a DX7 II D (which is actually replacing my TX802 for simplicity sake).
My collection will be: Super Gemini, DX7 II D, DW8000 + DW-8P, D50, Polyevolver, Matriarch and OB6. Plus a Korg SV1 for classic piano, rhodes, whirly, etc.
@@EdgetoneStudios wait you are Canadien! I’m Québecois and I buy mind at Moog audio Montréal so maybe I will have the best surprise in my life soon…
@@marcopernot5839 yup. BC born and raised.
where is my money?🙂
I don't know where yours is, but mine is tied up in a few other synths that I now have up for sale. 😜
