Hi, do you know of any ASCAP payment methods for artists living outside the US? I don't have a direct bank account in the US and I can't find an answer to this question. Maybe you have an answer? Thank you in advance
Thank you so much for sharing your insight on this topic. I've been struggling between BMI or ASCAP as a new artist and you've made the decision really easy haha.
Thanks for this vid, Jody!!! You guys are really out there changing lives! I really appreciate your mission to serve us independent artists… much respect 🫡
I've read that if you don't have a publisher, you need to register with a PRO both as a songwriter and a publisher. Is that correct, and would have to pay the fee twice?
@@EliteMusicCoaching I'm really not interested in establishing an LLC. I did that for a book, and it wasn't worth it. I assume if my music gets a decent return I could create an LLC later. My main question is if I don't have a publisher how do I get the songwriter and publishing royalty from the PRO?

I signed up with BMI about 3 years ago. Glad I chose wisely years ago
this is great except you need to update it now that BMI is for-profit and has a cost to join...
Only for new signees? Or do you pay no matter how long you been with them?
@@nathanielbenford7928 they are not charging to join, if you are asking about publishing that costs $150 for ascap and bmi...not a joining fee.
Went on BMI it’s 75$ to join
Thanks yes they changed this in 2023 I believe
I'm with ASCAP as a publisher and with BMI as a writer and publisher.
ASCAP, BMI - you're playing the music industry like a symphony with those dual memberships!
Thank you for the info
You bet!
