I would have liked to see how to actually use the value in cells A2 and A3, meaning how do I use the value "26%" in the formula.

How do I take away 20% from a dollar amount in Google sheets?

Im looking to subtract tax % from 1 cell box only, that will be applied to a whole column. Basically the idea is that the viewer of the sheet who only has access to edit in 1 cell box, can type in the tax for that day (as it changes daily) and that will show their due pay for everyday, but they do not have3 access to edit this. So the column would subtract the % without having to manually type the % in each cell daily, only 1 cell.
    I hope that makes sense

Great question! I think you are beyond my skill level 🙂. I do not know how you would lock the remainder of the spreadsheet for editing while allowing 1 cell to be editable. The formulas would be easy enough to make to use the data from the one cell - duplicate the formula using the same cell numbers instead of allowing Sheets to update the cell number for the data it collects. My work around would be to make the formulas on one sheet and the entry on another sheet so others are only entering data on Sheet 1 and the answers would be on Sheet 2. Users could technically still edit the information on Sheet 2, but would be less likely as they are only entering data on Sheet 1.

Good question. Could should be able to use the options to the right of the % button in the tool bar. Select the decimals you want to round and select the tool to reduce or expand to the number of decimal places you want to round to.

Instead of each row showing the TOTAL after that rows equation, is it possible to see the amount of that specific problem on its row and then have the total on its own bottom row? something like this:
    price $349.00
    26%off -$90.74
    tax 12% $30.99
    Total $289.25
    Thanks :)

That did not work. This was the formula I needed. =sum(Y6*0.85)
