    You went to quite a bit of effort with this one StreetRod. Great video. Thanks, man!

      Thanks Lou. My Adobe Premiere skills are pretty beginner so this was a stretch for sure. lol. I made a couple mistakes but I suppose they’re not horrible. Appreciate you brother.

    Nice, it’s difficult to get through to your average rider just how much better suspension upgrades are to ride if set up properly.

    Loved the videos! Going to do stiffer fork springs here soon as well.

    Enjoyed this comparison video, funny that as an owner of an original XS from 1982, Yamaha still makes bikes with suspension that needs work to make it better. I didn't watch the entire video you did on the front forks, so this may be something you addressed in that one, but I noticed in your screen split of the front end, there is a metal bracket / cover on the fork leg, close to the caliper mount, that is installed differently in the video showing your new Ohlins kit at work. Anyway, I'm a happy subscriber and everytime I see shots of the East Valley, I miss it even more! Keep that throttle pinned Caballero, cheers from Sydney, Australia.

      Thanks Anthony. Yeah. I caught that when I was editing and have since put the part back on. That's what I get for letting friends work on my bike. :-) Thx for watching.

    Can I ask where you are ridding? As a larger rider I’ve been considering a front fork upgrade.

      Brenner Pass Road, San Tan Mountain.

    I just bought a 2019 MT-07 with almost every upgrade. Except suspension. The ride is horrible. Fun, but horrible. Why didn’t you use the Ohlins rear suspension upgrade? I’m thinking of going with the Ohlins 108fk up front and the blackline rear shock on my MT07.

    • @StreetRodAZ

      I prefer K-Tech, but the k-tech front spring kit was not what i was going for. the fsk 108 was.

  • @mnap89
    @mnap89 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Is the FSK108 complete set I need? Or do I need to buy springs seperately?

    • @StreetRodAZ
      @StreetRodAZ  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      complete set. springs and spacers.

      @@StreetRodAZThanks. Which one you think is better FSK108 or YSS Upgrade Kit? They are about the same price, but YSS have some kind of valve emulator?

    • @StreetRodAZ
      @StreetRodAZ  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can never go wrong with Ohlins, but YSS makes good stuff too. Never personally bought YSS but they have a great rep. Based on my experience, I would go Ohlins.

    I don’t get why everyone would rather have a little bit more power and noise over a bike that can handle better.
    3-5 horse power is nice but I would rather lean in to corners with more confidence and comfort. But that’s just me.

    Do you know what the ohlin spacer length was?

    • @StreetRodAZ
      @StreetRodAZ  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not specifically but they're shorter than stock. Dave Moss's stuff does not apply to the FSK108s. Don't cut them. They're perfect. Get some preload adjusters too.

    • @paddyobrien8950
      @paddyobrien8950 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the response.
      I have the Ohlins springs and some preload adjusters just need the length of the spacer. Your previous video stated the overall length was around 15mm shorter so I’m guessing the spacer would be 205mm long.

    • @StreetRodAZ
      @StreetRodAZ  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@paddyobrien8950 Just measured the Ohlins spacers. 7.25 inches or 18.415cm.

    did it help reduce high speed wobble?

    • @StreetRodAZ
      @StreetRodAZ  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve never really had an issue with high speed wobble. Even at 125 mph, the bike has been pretty stable for me. if you’re having an issue, you might want to check your wheel balance, and the level of your front forks/wheel.

    I think our bikes have the same stock suspension. My stock 18 MT07 rides so rough on roads with cracks, tar snakes and uneven sections similar to wash boards.
    I can feel every bump. The ride is so harsh it feels like the forks are not moving especially over washboard sections. I weigh 155. I am guessing your bike rode the same way stock? Does these upgrades make the bike ride plush on these rough roads?

    • @StreetRodAZ
      @StreetRodAZ  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      these modifications make the suspension adjustable. So if you want it more stiff for track, dial it in. If you want it very soft for touring, you can adjust that as well. The problem with the stock suspension was there was no adjustment on the front and the springs were total crap. And the rear shock was complete garbage too. Even adjusting it you can’t get a decent ride out of it
