I agree. If I want an IR of, for example, a Fender Princeton, I want just one excellent one. I don't want to buy a pack and get 150 different variations that are almost identical. I end up spending hours A/B-ing them to try to find the "perfect" one until I just get sick of all of them.
I wouldn't say that's a problem isolated to just the use of IRs. It's an issue rooted in people just generally not knowing how to use their gear IMO. People can have an entire universe of amps, cabs and pedal at their finger tips these days and because of this they rarely get a chance to master any of them. It's one of disadvantages of modelers (they have many advantages as well, I'm not knocking them) when compared to the old days of actual amps. When you had one or two amps, and one or two guitars and maybe (if you were smart) you have a few cabs with different speakers in them, you'd know every single thing about those pieces of gear so when you did add something to your rig, you'd know exactly how it was effecting your tone and how to adjust it.
The tone is in your fingers and those great pickups! IMHO IR's are important, but not the end all. I always get good captures, models and IR's from TJ. As many did I went crazy and purchased tons of IR's none of which I use anymore.
It’s an awesome pack guys!! I’m really enjoying it! I had actually just pulled that exact same IR (d130 wrm) into a preset and fell in love with it before this video even came out!! I don’t get all the negative comments… y’all are doing awesome stuff!!
because it's not the same process and it's not as intuitive. and each pack costs a lot of money, even though the companies selling them produce them with the same equipment with only slight changes in mic placement.
So IRs replace the cab in Kemper, right? Are you gonna make profile paks with these new proprietary IRs of yours? Looking for a killer VOX with your new proprietary style IRs in alnico…Celestion, Scumback 25 and 30, Weber, etc…
Thank you HW, what about the IR not sounding the same in tonex as it does helix? i have a workaround as far as the pedal is concerned since i am putting tonex in the helix fx loop. also pickup heights on that strat? vintage pups? building one with vintera 60's pups and hope it sounds like that one.
@@ToneJunkieTV Talking about pretty. I think it's time the KPA Rig manager got an upgrade. The graphics are boring. You have the huge grey area in the middle of the screen that's wasted, all is does is show a row of 50 Profiles...that can rather open up in a different window. The Stomp and FX block graphics also boring...why cant we see a colourful pedal looking graphic like every other brands editor manager. All the knobs need an led surround graphic showing the level, etc etc. Speak to Christophe. Bro. ✌️🤘
I’d say option paralysis is the biggest problem lol. Too many IR options, makes you not want to even attempt going through them.

That’s why I use the profiles the way HW makes them. I don’t turn a single knob but volume.
If we are tone hunters, you're a tone farmer 🎉
Incredible demonstration, thank you so much!

As HW sits there with like 17 amps behind him

Every tone has a context
There is no such thing as a bad tone, only a bad part.

Very good playing man!
I dont know why but I just love picking my cab, microphone, tweaking placement, etc, and get great tones. Why havent I been seduced by IRs?
Because of money privilege lol took me 50 yrs to afford the LT 🤷🏾♂️

Are we gonna see ampero II captures on this Channel?!
