Hats off to Verdine White, laying it down like a master. Watch how the whole band follows his groove. It's no coincidence he's the only one wearing white. His shoes and the stripe on his pants are like a symphonic conductor's baton for everybody to reference. Absolutel master
In their hey day it was primarily Maurice , Verdine and Phillip . It warms my heart that 2 of them still going . First saw them in concert in 1976 . 7 total times in concert . The best group ever imo .
I got to see them only twice in the mid 70s. I remember being so blown away at how tight they were live and they were always far apart as they are now, which as you probably know, made performing live (especially back then) so much more challenging. I'm still trying to figure out how they disappeared right before my eyes. It is indeed great to see Verdine and Phillip still at it and sounding great. Maurice was taken way too soon... Amazing group always.
The quality is great. Not the same group. This is for kids. Verdine is still on his game. Phil fell off, but he's older. I understand. New band. I loved them so much in the seventy's, my family hated me. I didn't care. If you want to hear them in their prime. Check them out in the seventies. Thanks for sharing.
Ralph was there when Phillip started in 1971 was the drummer for them but then more of a percussionist for them . When in concert all eyes where on the big 3 . Maurice , Phillip and Verdine .
Never in my Lifetime would I Imagine That a member of one of my favorite Groups growing up would be my my Brother in law B David Whitworth. So Proud of him. and folks he is a down to Earth Person. East Orange Strong!
Earth,Wind,&Fire are still performing great music and entertainment all these years.I am proud to say I remember when they were performing in the early 1970"s.I am still enjoying them today in 2022.Thank You so much for this Great Concert video.
Just came back from seeing them perform with Santana, and I have to say; as much as I love Santana (and I really do), these guys stole the show! I loved seeing them perform live, they were all so full of life. Never, had I imagined that I would ever go to one of their concerts, let alone like it, and I just simply was stunned. I can't wait to go see them again, hopefully soon ☺️
Glad you enjoyed the show. Had you seen them in the early and mid '70s, you would've had a heart-attack before mid-show-- especially when they added the Phenix Horn-Section. However, once Phil Collins 'borrowed' their horn-section, (when EWF was on hiatus), that kind of opened the door to the decline of their initial success....not to mention Maurice White displaying the first symptoms of Parkinson's, which ultimately prevented him form touring.)
Hey, that coincidence is a miracle, imagine 1976 in my small country of Serbia, in the city of Belgrade, I listen and watch, then unknown EWF, and then the already legendary Santana. I am a privileged person.
@@michaeldean9338 Thank you brother, people like you make me happy, I'm sure. EWF, in addition to good music, brings together good people. Good luck, good health, I wish.
I still love EWF for being the background music of my life for so many years! Positive messages, excellent musicianship, theatric performance, and always excellence & love!! Blessings Always!
Have tickets to see them in October!!! Can. Not. Wait !! Praying nothing happens to prevent this complete tour from happening!!! They are all magical, timeless and beautiful!! A job well done on the stage and all deserve much respect, honor and admiration!!! ❤️❤️❤️💯💯💯
These guys were the soundtrack of my childhood along with all the other great 70's smooth rockers out there:-). My wife and I now sing along to their music on long car rides- between these guys, the Commodores, The Doobie Brothers/Michael McDonald, and all of the whole lot:-)
Thank you very much, I was at that concert and I really enjoyed it and I see a lot of details that. Well, for me they were very difficult to be able to appreciate them and with you video I appreciate more, thank you very much. Excellent image and sound
..during the mid 70's and early eighties they were my most favorite group in the world, with the original members Philip Bailey, Verdine White, Ralph Johnson and the genius himself Mr Maurice White.
Fulfilling Maurice's living dream to deliver joy and love to humanity through music. Thanks to every one of them to be those ambassadors of life. Bravo, Bravo, Bravo!!!!! Hopefully we will see you in Florida!

I was fortunate to them in the 70s and 80s when they had the majority of the original members. They are good now, but they were great. Excellent sounds and performance.
Earth wind and fire the best of the best saw them 18 times in the last 40 years nothing like ther concert it's gotta be in you not on ya to appreciate ther music 100 100 100 absolutely beautiful music
True professionalism right here. Can sing FOR REAL. playing instruments, dressed well, great stage presence with dance routines. Artist of today know nothing about this, they can't come close to the showmanship of artist from the 70's and 80's
Thank you for posting this video! I have been wanting to see their new shows. Finally I get a chance to see one! ❤️. I loved it when Maurice use to dance alongside the two women dancers. Philip has lost a lot of weight! Lookin good my favorite- After The Love is Gone. :). They are playing along with their recordings. The guy singing Maurice’s part is really good. Dances great too
Thanks for filming that concert, I really enjoyed it, Earth, Wind & FIre is my favorite band since I was young and I'm glad they're still active, greetings from Venezuela!!!
Just saw them in the Chi on 7/2/22 with Santana. Waited 2 years. EWF outstanding and awesome. I am a fan from way back. Never missed their concerts especially the magic acts.
Thanks for filming this Edu. Your namesake Edu Lobo wrote Zanzibar that EW&F recorded on Head To The Sky. The setlist: Rock That, Yearnin Learnin, Shining Star, Let Your Feelings Show, Mighty Mighty, Getaway, Jupiter, Serpentine Fire, Singasong, Got To Get You Into My Life, Evil, Kalimba Story, Sing A Message To You, Departure, Head To The Sky, Devotion, Reasons, Way Of The World, Band intros, Brazilian Rhyme, Runnin, After The Love Has Gone, Fantasy, Boogie Wonderland w/If You Fall In Love With Me breakdown, Let's Groove, September, In The Stone.
I love how Phillip knew his voice 53:55 he brought it down an octave lower than usually goes. He been SANGIN so long, but don't get twisted he still can hit those notes in sixth and seventh octaves now.

HAVE EARTH WIND AND FIRE EVER DONE A BAD CONCERT....NEVER!! OVER 45 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE IN SOUND AND LIGHTING. YOU CAN SEE THEY LOVE PERFORMING. THE FACT THAT THEY HAVE OFFSPRING PLAYING JUST MAKES IT EVEN BETTER!! ANY WONDER VERDINE IS ALWAYS HAPPY.... ITS HIS WHOLE LIFE! I JUST HOPE THEY CONTINUE PLAYING AND EVOLVING TILL THEY'RE ALL 80!!!!!!!!!!
Let's just say until they can't do it anymore. Let's be real. Who wants to see them in diapers? I loved them from the early seventies. I don't want to see them go out like that. Do you?
As a 2000's kid who used to listen to their songs and even preformed In the Stone as my 2021 Highschool band show. It was an amazing experience to see them Live at the Beau Rivage in Mississippi. As a first concert, it was the coolest thing I had ever been too. I'm glad that I got to see them!
I am attending their show next Sat. night in Tampa. They open for Carlos Santana. This will be my first time attending an EWF show. AI have always loved their style and talents. Looking forward to seeing them live for the first time. It will be my 10th live Carlos show !!
Amazing indeed as this great show resembles nothing like the great show I saw of this great band just a few years ago. And that's always been a Hallmark of this band & it continues on to this day. Switching things up keeps both the audiences & the band on their toes. EW&F has had some great musical directors & their current one -21 year veteran band member -Mr. Myron McKinley's role in keeping their live concerts fresh while providing different elements musically through his arrangements is up there with all his predecessors. The last time I saw EW& F, Philip Bailey said at one point: " These next set of songs we're about to do, while they were not #1 on the charts we know they were always #1 in your hearts". And I just knew that meant the band was about to go deep into their catalog as I like it. Sure enough, as I heard those 1st notes of " Power" some in the audience who's ears only know the "hits" streamed on their individual playlists - started looking kinda uncomfortable at the incoming & unfamiliar live music now hitting their ears. I know this is the era of the streaming playlists but I'm a whole album listening man. Because thats where those audio pearls lies between the ' hits'.
The day that Earth, Wind & Fire appeared here at El Paso, was the day that Andrew Woolfolk, former saxophone player of the band, died. He was in the best years of the band. I expected some comment from Philip or Verdine, but they didn't. R.I.P.
And that intro before Getaway is unreleased but if you buy the EWF the Eternal dance boxset you will here the original Getaway Version with the intro and all the different versions of Shining Star
