Being in this industry for over 13 years I can say I’ve never reported anyone but it’s very frustrating when you pay thousands for your education and do everything the right way, for someone else to buy a kit on Amazon and work from their basement and charge the same as you do. There are laws and regulations for a reason and if they no longer make sense for lash artists, we should work together to change them.

@@jesjes7124 Karen’s the best you got? Lol it’s frustrating to follow the rules when others don’t. My business is successful because I have a solid reputation based on my licenses and certifications. If it “bothered me so” I’d be reporting people. Why does my comment “bother you so”? Because you don’t follow the rules?

I currently work for a franchise as a beginner lash artist and I feel trapped! 😭 the owner only cares about money and wants full sets done in 2 hours and refills in an hour by the 6 week mark.. I also can’t quit because the contract states that I have to pay a hefty fee for the so called “training” they provided.. at this point I hope they let me go so I can continue to grow as a lash artist. Your videos help so much, thank you 💕

I’m currently training at a franchise and we are required to do a full set in 2 hours and it’s not a lot of money. I also do facials and massage. So I have been thinking about going out on my own but I don’t know how to get started. Thanks for this video.
I'm actually doing a video on going solo. I know it's a scarey thing thinking about it but if your unhappy the best thing to do is do your own thing. You'll make waaaay more money and on your own terms. Before you start the process make sure you go over your contract with your current employer and check if they do non-compete and what will require you to be able to go on your own without them coming after you. Usually franchise are very strict about competition but as long as they are cool with you going on your own then it'll make the process a lot easier. I can go into more detail about this but it'll be an extremely long message so might as well go into detail in a video. 😘 I'm glad this video was helpful

I'm considering studying to become a lash artist. Your videos got me hooked. I am thinking of doing it from home to start. Just considering all the items that need to be in place to start.
I’m a licensed esthetician (but no longer work at a salon) and work full time at a hospital. Can I do a lash business from home as a side hustle/hobby and not have to license my room as a salon space through the state board of cosmetology?? I’m so stuck on this!! Located in Pennsylvania. I was just thinking to get my home occupation zoning permit and a LLC and business insurance but is this allowed? I need help

how much do you recommend charging for the deposit? I'm thinking 25% of the service.
Depends on how much you charge. When I was charging under $100, I would have a $25 deposit. Now that I charge triple. I charge a $50 deposit. Honestly, it just depends on what you want. I know a lot of artist charge half of their full price. I see no point in that, but it works for them, so my advice is to do what you feel comfortable with.

It's not a competition. We can all be successful and be thriving together. So I don't understand why girls feel threatened that they will do whatever is takes to bring other artist down. Honestly there's no need for drama 😂 lol
