@@e5211 it's been a year since posting and after all the fancy tools I'm back to a chopstick with a few acupuncture needles taped to the end and a 58.5mm piston tamp. I can consistently make great espresso this way.
@@e5211 about 2 weeks ago I went from sewing needles to acupuncture one's. Wish I did it earlier as there was a huge difference. They actually settle and fluff the puck much more efficiently. Worth the $5 off ebay.

the ocd is good but it only flattens the top layer. the lower layers are not evenly distributed. so the even distribution is quiet superficial.
