Crazy how this game brought a whole new meaning to the words "Mass Attack" Mass Attack's rendition of Dedede's Theme is one of the best in the franchise, I adore the Mother 3 vibes that it gives off, and this rendition of it sounds absolutely wonderful; makes sense that they chose this version of Dedede's Theme, since Shogo Sakai was involved with this game's music

All I can think about when I hear mass attack’s remix is that flower boss that constantly slammed it’s head into a steel beam to attack and you have to slam the beam back on it’s head to counterattack. I dunno… Feels like the poor thing has brain damage by the time you beat it

So I hopped onto Warioware: D.I.Y and started up the Record Makermatic, then I made my own cover of Dedede's theme based on the Mass Attack version, in D#/Eb like the original Kirby's Dreamland. And now, several years later, Kirby's Dream Buffet essentially just made it official. I swear, either I'm some kind of prophet, or someone at HAL must've read my mind.
@@MagoDraws I mean it does do it’s battle themes and remixes pretty well, but my main problem with its ost is that it feels like it took a step back in its instruments (like how the iconic Kirby synth is missing) and I can barely remember any level themes, when the levels in triple deluxe and return to dreamland had such memorable bangers

First of all physically? Second you can basically turn any song into and ear piercing scream by turning the pitch up. You could also make the song go faster and slower at unpredictable times to make it sound like shit if you need more examples just ask
This brought back so much nostalgia, I loved Mass Attack as a kid it was one of my first Kirby games alongside Epic Yarn and I think its one of the more underappreciated games in the series.

Man, Shogo Sakai sure loves bringing back this take on VS King Dedede, doesn't he? Can't really blame him, since this take on that arrangement is pretty great! Speaking of King Dedede, considering that he too is quite a gourmet, it's strange that he doesn't appear here as a boss or something. But hey, atleast the self-made king appears in spirit through a costume and some Character Treats.

I always assumed that Shogo Sakai composed this particular rearrangement of of VS King Dedede, since this version originally popped up in Kirby Mass Attack, a game that Shogo Sakai has composed the entire soundtrack for. But then again, him and Megumi Ohara did work together for both this game and Kirby & The Rainbow Curse, which also featured a rearrangement of this take on VS King Dedede, sooooo... maybe it was a group effort between the two? Or maybe it really was just Megumi Ohara this time. Considering that alot of the more recent Kirby games signify which composer did which track via the use of colored notes on each games' Sound Test menu, I wouldn't be surprised if I got that wrong as I don't pay too much attention to that sort of detail...
@@TornaitSuperBird I wouldn't say so on that second note; comparing the rearrangement in Dream Buffet with the two from Mass Attack and Rainbow Curse, it's clear to me that Dream Buffet's rearrangement is more in line with those two, albeit with a higher key reminiscent of how VS King Dedede sounded back in Kirby's Dream Land. As Blowout Blast, on account of being based heavily on Kirby's first game, also features a rearrangement of VS King Dedede with that original higher key, I can't really blame you for making that assumption. All that said though, thanks for clarifying that first bit for me; Megumi Ohara sure knows how to replicate the musical styles of other composers!
Disappointed this is literally the sole Mass Attack remix in Dream Buffet, since it's one of my favorite Kirby soundtracks, but it's alright! We got some recognition for Block Ball and Tilt 'n' Tumble! One thing at a time. The day will come when we get some amazing Mass Attack remixes too.
This sounds while we are on a large cake that is decorated with a large cookie tree, while blocks of chocolate hit the ground causing a large shock wave that even Bowser cannot fall from above.

@@-sleep-4541 By the time the part I actually like starts I've already defeated Dedede in Star Allies and Forgotten Land. Two games in, I am still really unimpressed by it. I had similar feelings towards Re:Green Greens too so I guess I'm just too used to what I've heard for about 15 years now.

It's basically Kirby Mass Attack's version, but pitched to match the original Kirby's Dream Land version from the Game Boy.
