There comes a band once in one's lifetime where every lyric of every song pertains to a memory experienced and it's as if they play the soundtrack to your life. I discovered Placebo 14 years ago, and remember vividly what I was doing when I first found them (eating a boerewors roll and listening to the bitter end). They have stayed with me since then, narrating my life, slowly but surely.

This is the hidden gem from Placebo. I was 16 when I heard it the first time and it still hits me in the same way today...
Wish I had heard of them back in 2003 when I was 13, would have helped a lot.
It's been 20 years since the release of this album. And since then I've been a fan of them. I discovered Placebo in the period of this album and they are part of the soundtrack of my life until today. My favorite band 🖤

This song, like many others of this band, takes me into some incredible atmosphere.
I feel melancholy, nostalgia, but I can't say that the shade of these feelings is negative. I listened to it as a child and always knew about this song, listening again and trying to understand the meaning of the words and melodies for myself. Obviously, at the moment I have found this very meaning. I've probably been experiencing this state and feeling all my life. People who managed to stay in my life for a sufficient time and then left it for various reasons, periodically visit my thoughts. I can go to their social pages. For example, I can look at our attachments with photos or music at a time when we were close, I can see how they have changed now and what is happening in their lives. Like a ghost. In fact, they live, breathe and have a good or bad time at the moment, which I can't know about. But they are no longer in my life. I can even talk to them, refer to them in the past as I knew them then, because now I have no idea how everything has changed for them. Sometimes they come to me in my dreams.The parts of the soul that were invested in our communication and the time spent together will never perish, I understand it that way. And through all our lives we carry these ghosts of the soul particles we left behind in these dear people.
When I was a teenager I used to think that he kills his soulmate to stop her suffering in a burning world. Dry your eyes and soul mates never die implied that she was going to die but they would forever be connected.

Placebo is such an oasis (not talking about the band Oasis), whenever I am tired of whatever I am have been obsessing over musically lately, Placebo is so nice to come back to over and over.
I followed this band since the early 1990s and found a lifetime connection with the work of the outstanding members of this band to get through any life challenge. This song reminds me of the women I loved and influenced me to where I am today after fucking up with love through the years. Today, I am blessed to have a whole heart and grounding to love myself and to be my own soulmate to be happy and enjoy the gift of life.

I do believe the same. And they are not necessarily romantic. They can be family or friends. And then there are the karmic ones who are difficult but make you grow a lot. Lucky is the one who meets a soulmate as a lover too, it's a peaceful connection. Most of my relationships had a karmic vibe lol. Never had this yet. Had karmic crap in my family too. But few soulmates as well. My best friend is one of them. I consider myself lucky then 🙂
