Kia ora from New Zealand! Thank you so much. I'm about to make savoury muffins and using my silicone cups for the first time. I didn't know whether they needed to be greased first, or whether to preheat the tray they'll be sitting on. Your video was really informative and told me everything I needed to know.💕

You. Are. Bloody. Brilliant. I would never have thought to put the batter in a plastic bag. Well done that woman!

Im so glad this is on here. My mom sent me a stack of silicone liners and they seemed so flimsy i came here to see how well they worked. Im surprised to see the batter staying on the cookie sheet and the idea of the batter in a bag is one i should definitely try. Now i feel more confident to go and use them.

You can get smooth sided silicone baking cups. You don’t need any spray or grease. There are no ridges on the sides so everything just pops out. Great for egg dishes, use in air-fryer too.

So you can use the silicone moldings in the oven? Not a problem??

My silicone molds have a heat limit of 230C° max, which is fine cuz my usual cupcakes/muffins are set at 180C° so I think it won't be a problem 💗

I have 2 silicone round 8 1/2 inch pans from my smart wear set bought around the time silicone pans were just coming out. I baked a box cake yesterday in them both, and put them on the cookie sheet, but the cake stuck in both of them, they were ruined. This also happened with the box cake mix in the cupcake silicones that are only 2 years old. When removing them the bottom of the silicone cupcake and the round silicone pans they looked dark like burnt almost. What would cause them to stick? Should I stop using Boxed Cake mix and go back to scratch cooking?

I recommend putting your silicone pans on a baking sheet. Its probably not good for the silicone to be over direct heat from the bottom. I dont use silicone pans, I use glass, but the glass still looks like new because I put them on top of my baking sheet for protection. Whereas, I've seen other peoples glass Bakewell brown and burnt at the bottom

The ones I've got (cupcake size) end up stuck to the cake and the cake gets destroyed trying to get it out, obviously because you can't tear them like paper ones. Back to the latter as I won't waste more more trying different types or brands. So annoyed....I googled it and found people on a forum saying the same.

I just used my new silicone cupcake cups to make small brioche buns, and they taste a little "plastic-y". I ran them through 2 cycles in my diswasher first, and they are BPA-free cups. Is this normal? Will this odd flavor they gave my buns go away with future use?
