She has a background as an activist and tries to retain that aesthetic but her career in Congress shows anyone can be bought. As mentioned in the video, she voted down the recent railroad strike with the rest of them.
So basically every human and constitutional right and social issue was split between two parties, ensuring that the whole population will side with one of the two. Then they spend all of their time as public figures trying to take the rights their side doesn't agree with away so that there is a constant war while our government does literally whatever they want behind the scenes.
