I'm living a frugal minimalist lifestyle and in this video I'm sharing how I budget. Living a minimalist lifestyle can save you a lot of money and is often better for the environment jeey!
I do believe in the law of attraction to some degree. I think it's important to send out good energy in term of finances, but also start acting in a way that creates abundance.
I recommend looking at you budget every 6 to 12 months to really keep on top of it and evaluate if everything still works/is on track.
Monthly bills are a big part of most people's spendings. Things like mortgage, rent, insurance, etc.
If you're able to cut back on those bills I would highly recommend doing so.
With everything I buy I ask myself one key question: "Do I need this?".
Asking myself this question over and over literally changed my spending habits!
It is such an important question because there's a big difference between needing something and wanting something.
You will be surprised how much money you can save if you don't buy what you don't need.
I also really recommend applying automatic savings. This helps you build and maintain an emergency fund for a rainy day. If you have big goals for your savings, you can of course aim for higher saving numbers.
And last but not least I always have a minimum amount of money in my bank account. Just for peace of mind. At the end of the month I put the remaining amount in my savings account or I replenish my minimum.
I hope you enjoyed the video and it gave you confidence to take your own finances under the loop.
    Lots of love,
    Delala
    Jam recipe:
    Wash and the berries.
Bring the redcurrant to a boil.
    Add:
    Lemon juice
    Sugar mixed with jelly
Per kg fruit mix 300 gr sugar with 1 sachet jelly.
Bring everything to a boil again and boil for 2 minutes.
Fill clean or boiled jars with the jam and put the jars upside down.
Turn them after 5 minutes for the jam to settle and cool down.
I use different amounts of sugar depending in the fruit:
    Blackberries 1 kg - 250 gr sugar
    Elderberries 1 kg - 500 gr sugar
    Cherries 1 kg - 250 gr sugar
    Raspberries 1 kg - 250 gr sugar

You have a very relaxing voice and I love your home and garden. That "fantasy self" you mentioned used to be my downfall and I had spent A LOT of money on expensive items that sat in my closet unused and had to be sold at a considerable loss. Lesson learned.

Glad you started your frugal journey at a young age. As a young newly wed in the early 1970’s I had to be frugal because (thankfully) credit was not easily available and we both had low paying jobs because of our age. As our income grow we increased our spending a I now know this was a big mistake. In my 40’s I had my light bulb moment and realised we needed to stop spending. This was something my husband and I had different ideas about. I decided to quietly get on the frugal road. We had variable incomes so I used that to my advantage I began to save any additional money I earned or saved by hunting out a bargain. My husband was self employed so his income was very variable. I began to notice when he had a low income he never asked me if I had enough to pay for everything he just let me get on with it. I used this as my chance to point out to him that we couldn’t afford this or that because of his reduced income that month. In time a built up an emergency fund and then started to build savings.

Your channel is such a breath of fresh air. My husband and I have been living similar to you for 23 years now. It required us to work very hard for quite a few years and also make sacrifices that most people, in our society, would never be willing to do. However, it has definitely been worth it. Have a lovely day, Delala! =)

It is really crucial to be frugal in the life. Moreover, we must definitely know what is required, what is necessary for us. I am also a frugal individual concerning this affair. If any item is basically required, it will be bought by the financial potential in accordance with the benefits. The equipoise of the budget utterly gains a huge importance for us all. I always appreciate your this approach regarding this issue. Particularly, the theme that you select commonly broaden my horizon and captivating my attention. I am thankful for sharing such a wholesome video. Cheers from humid Turkey🌞!

    Lovely video.
Seneca said “It is a great man that can treat his earthenware as if it was silver, and a man who treats his silver as if it was earthenware is no less great.”
Cost per wear advice is great. Easier for us men. But I have a calf leather pair of shoes made in Northamptonshire. Always resoled. Over 15 years. Cost a fortune initially but cost per wear much less than fast fashion …
(As a minimalist I only have four pairs of shoes now - two smart, one pair of walking shoes and a pair of running shoes.)

I am glad I watched this TH-cam video. Being frugal is a good choice. I used to spend every penny I earned but I'm trying to save more. I want to save to buy my first used vehicle. I am a forty-one year old woman who tries to pay my own bills. I am trying to take ownership of my life. I want to budget for a used vehicle. I can't go over $15,000 at the most for a used vehicle. I do have a probationary license. I drive this Saturday for an hour.

Sadly i cannot move because my work is in the big city and I'm not a driver .(My biggest fear is driving car)But my dream is to have a social housing so the rent be cheaper, and i can focus on saving more .Right now i live with relatives and i still pay 550 euro rent for a small room 3 x 4 meters. I have no choice because of how expensive the housing is in the Netherlands 😅

Love your lifestyle 🥰 Just interested how many hours you work each week? I've gone down to working a 7 day fortnight since living a frugal/minimalist life. Best thing I ever did!

    • @Delala
      @Delala  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Hi Kate! Thank you so much! 🥰
It depends on if you count making TH-cam videos as working…
I work 16 hours (2 days) a week as a nanny, which I’m very happy with for now. But in combination with TH-cam I work 40-45 hours a week. Which is a bit more than I would like. I’m trying to find a good balance with it and dream of one day being able to live from my channel. So hopefully by that time my hours go down to 30 hours or something. But YT is also my hobby at the same time, I do love making videos so it’s a fun time 😊
