1:50 The Field type still determines which effects you will get when comboing off of them (fire field>leap gives fire aura), but with the elemental epitome minor trait you will also gain an aura depending on which attunement you're in when you combo with any field (fire field>leap while in water gives fire and frost aura)
The aura only depends on what your attunement is when you finish channeling the blast finisher, not the field or even attunement you started channeling the blast finisher in. For example, putting down a fire field, swapping to earth, starting to channel Earth hammer 5, and then swapping to air attunement before you finish channeling the skill will give you a shocking aura from being in air attunement when the field was blasted and you will also get might from blasting a fire field. You cannot get two different auras from it. I checked this in the golem room to make sure.
@@jerod4036 that's pretty much exactly what I said. You can get 2 auras from it, maybe you blasted instead of leaping thru fire? Lay down a fire field swap to water and leap thru it. You'll get the fire aura from leaping thru fire field and frost aura from elemental epitome while in water.
hmm I'll take your word on this until I can actually sit down and test it. I spent a bit of time jumping and blasting to make sure. perhaps I was mistaken?
@@CaffeinatedDad You get very SLIGHT outline of both fire aura and frost aura when you combo through both. Doing fire field into water field is my "bruiser combo" in pvp and yes you get both.
for PvE you can do power Hammer with berserkers (raids Strikes) or open world/fractals/dungeons are pretty good with celestial. hammer catalyst usually syncs well with power!
I don't do PvP but will try in PvE surely. I will put forth a valiant effort... and probably still fail. I just generally stink at Ele, the atunement swapping is about 2 too many swaps for me. When I play Weaver in PvE I usually just stick in Fire & Lightning and groan when I have to leave them. LOL I have 4 or 5 of every other class but Ele I just have 3 and regret that many some days. LMAO
o hey its not the finisher that decides the aura its the attunment you are in,i can get all 4 auras just using conjured lightning hammer autoack blast finisher while swapping attunments!,alternativley you could even place a water sphere,go fire and start the jumping blast finisher,as you are airborne swap to earth and you get magnetic aura for doing a fire finisher in a water sphere haha,there is just enough time to pull this off i tested it,i also use the magnetic aura alot when im in conjured lightning hammer,as i can place the earth sphere at range,leap into it to chase a ranged class and get magnetic aura while having access to the powerfull conjured hammer skills!,bonus tip,leaping though the earth sphere and hitting enemy puts 8 seconds of weakness on them,not worth using water leap this way bcz you would want the extra heal from using it in water sphere,but for conjured hammer its great free weakness on hit,and you want earth sphere down as much as possible anyway

I have never played any other classes so, after making a mechanist for the first time....I never realize how hard I have to play using ele. I only play my warrior when I am tired and half asleep and need to take a break from full concentration Ele. Now playing Mech, I can fall asleep and I think I will still get things done. No longer will I allow Anet to abuse us Eles. I have dropped Ele and changed to Mech. I am an abuse victim survivor. Yay

They did wrong giving a hammer to a spellcaster. I still think GS would have been much better for many reasons including aesthetics and the fact that the other 2 spellcasters have already access to GS.
The hammer in pvp isnt great, why... Because of weapon 3. It takes away 3 skills if you squint. It has no good stuns or evade skills. Take d/d. It has 3 stuns and 2 evades. D/f has even more utility. If you want to be top tier plat then drop the hammer. Sorry, but I do enjoy watching you meme videos.

Style is what determines how you do in PvP with the hammer. If you are crashing in and going ham all the time, you're going to be dead. The hammer only has 1 block, and 1 evade (it's hard calling water 4 an evade, but here we are). But if you hang back, and pick your spots, you can absolutely wreck things. Especially if you attach yourself to the hip of a core guardian. PvE is a whole different story. Hammer is amazing in PvE, and my personal favorite class of EoD.

Legitimately I thought about having that as blooper tip ( hey here's the first tip to playing hammer Catalyst.... Don't....)
