The Carrie Diaries is a book that is the prequel to SATC the book, which was actually pretty different from what he HBO series ended up being. In the book, Carrie does have a family. A lot of people don't realize that the HBO series is a completely different thing than the original book SATC. So the Carrie Diaries may not mesh with the series that you watched, because it is not a prequel to the series, but to the book, which was very different.
Honestly, I watched season one and two and I'm upset that carry keeps dragging Sebastion along with her, never fully letting go, leading him on, and when she saw him and maggie together after she broke up with Weaver she got all upset and I was like, he has moved on, thats ok! You left him over and over again and now you can't be upset to see him with another girl. Honestly Carrie.
I just started to watch this and right now in episode 5 it happened just like you said but I expect them to be together again forever after a while...won't they at the end?:(

I'm excited about her crossing over to American television, seeing as she played my favorite Companion on Doctor Who. I'm not sure about this show, but I will watch it for Freema and her amazing voice/accent.
SATC fans seem to be in an uproar about this differing from the life of Carrie we know from the show. This is NOT a prequel to the show. This is based on the Carrie Diary books by Candace Bushnell. Candace also wrote SATC but it did not include background info on the characters, therefore, the writing staff at SATC had to come up w/ own background stories. This show here is based on Candace Bushnell's thoughts on the characters that she originally came up with. This looks quite a bit different
The Carrie diaries was a good show and it was enjoyable to watch, also it was hard to believe they only went up to two seasons. I think it was and that was it. this is what I can't understand, If this was everybody's favorite and it was well-like and they had a lot of great ratings so why couldn't I just continued it, why couldn't they kept going with it. I know they did not run out material already to write about. They always do this, always take the good shows off that people enjoyed watching
Love this show finished season 1. I’m 35 BTW. Watched SATC and JLT. Also watched the movies. Watching this show i was weary as I barely started watching it in June. I never caught it when it aired wasn’t even aware. To be fair I watched the entire SATC line up due to a rugby injury so I put the HBO and binged it to hell. Carrie Diaries is so clean so smooth and just felt magical. The actress manages to nail spot on SJPs weird habits haha I’m like damn!! I love how you gradually start seeing Carrie morphing into the Bradshaw we know. She begins to lie to be dishonest she begins to withhold information and begins to manipulate to get her way I also start seeing how she tries to rationalize things and make it about her. The rest of the people Sebastian is one cool dude. Her sister Dorrit is one cool chick. I oddly like Donna and Larissa a lot and Mouse despite being a genius she’s great! Her other friend the tall one is just one poor chick who has bad habits. Walter is like the Charlotte of CD haha and I identify with the dad a lot. I’m not a Ken like he is, but the sneaking around the inner guilt of seeing someone, I totally get it man. 2022 for me was watching Sex and the City and I love it! Carrie Diaries she just feels like a princess but also I feel like Carrie deserves all great things! She’s a great girl
She meets Carrie in the 2nd installment. I don't know if she'll be in the 1st series but if the series gets recommissioned she will feature in it at some stage

No offense but most people that watch the show probably watch sex and the city because sex and the city text only came out before the shower this Tekken is the spinoff of sex and the city actually but I know they’re trying to make it like the show supposed be first because it’s about Karen when she was younger in the sex and the city and another way is going to be nicer to get lost cause I didn’t watch all the sex and city episodes of whatever and I watched all the episodes of this I didn’t get lost and I never read the book so yeah I didn’t get lost all of us I got to get lost

I heard about this but as a fan of the original I was dubious. And boy was I right to be. There is nothing SATC about this. To have a much loved and still culturally relevant character rewound into this is bad form. SJP will always be Carrie Bradshaw. This girl feels like an impostor, lol!
