The video doesn't match the song in the second verse she says someone saw him with his tattoo removed how could that be if he dies in the video after they had a argument
Technically the whole song doesn’t match. The song is about a guy that left her and moved on with his life and was simply “The one that got away.” And not “my dead lover” lol There’s other lyrical details than don’t match the video, ie they don’t show the teenage liquor-stealing years. If they really wanted to match it, they could have had her two lives both be in her 30s. One where she’s lonely(or has a man that she’s not happy with)while she hears the stories of her ex’s success and the other be the perfect life that they would have had together.
