However, from the following videos and the end of this one you did like what we ware trying to do - I think you described it as 'highs and lows'. I am 1/2 way through watching the video you did for Dice Tower, but I just wanted to drop you a line thanking you for the review, apologizing for the lows and I really am glad you stuck with it. I just picked up the core Dungeon Saga game as well as the Adventurer's Companion. While Descent 2.0 is the ultimate campaign based dungeon crawler and Imperial Assault is the perfected version of the second edition Descent ruleset, Dungeon Saga is pretty damn cool and ambitious. The game seems like it could be pretty damn epic, especially when you include the Adventurer's Companion into the game. Mantis' production values for the game are extremely high. They're right up there with Games Workshop and Fantasy Flight and that can go a long way to helping a game like Dungeon Saga really stand out. I look forward to getting it to the table, but that might be somewhat difficult as Imperial Assault(along with Chaos Marauders & Cold War: CIA vs KGB card games) basically rules our game table at the moment.
I backed th KS and had to play the waiting game like so many others. It got hard to stay optimistic. I got a little down but after receiving the game things turned around for me. The is so much potential here that I'm enthusiastic again. I have put my fan boy hat back on. I'm even working on a fan site. Can't wait for your review and to see your painted figs. If it turns out your not a fan of the game I am sure you will have a good reason. I'll be disappointed but I'll stay a loyal viewer. :) Love your vids.
This is my favorite game at this time and every Friday have a Dungeon saga night with friends, I respect your honesty but once you play this with your mates all your worries will go as it is very good. As for Mantic yes they have made lots of mistakes with orders and customer help I think they are trying to hard to soon releasing too many new games when they should stick with the games that are already doing very well such as Kings of War and focus on the customer base they already have and by expanding on those games only which will bring in the custom they want. they have my support and I will be purchasing every little bit of Dungeon Saga goodness they release.I look forward to seeing more of your videos
The Adventure Book has a lot of errors where it references page numbers. They are having to redo it. Be careful with the resin mini's they break easy. Having the extra tiles is not a bad thing because with a large dungeon you can use them. I was a kickstarter backer and I think it is a fun game and has a lot of potential.

There's just one copy in the whole of Madrid Spain (in English thankfully) and I'm really, really tempted. I'm that guy that has every single Descent 2nd edition game/expansion/add ons etc btw You said that your wife bought you Bloodbowl as your first game ? that's a nice lady you got there ! btw did you know that Hero SCAPE (corrected from quest) is not available any more ? boxes go for around £400+ used !! Same for Mad Max Fury Road from MB.
Thanks for the review mate. I am a KS backer and got a similar feeling than yours with the duplicated miniatures. Some of the gifts they gave as for free for financing their project were duplicated sets of the miniatures. It's a shame, as I don't see how I could use them in the game, as none of the g require so many models. So we have ended up with just duplicated minis. Also, some special models as the legendary heroes had to be purchased apart. I would have preferred to have the legendary heroes for free instead of packs of duplicated minis.
Thanks for the video! I was looking at purchasing the game and extras and was wondering if it was different pieces in the expansions. You saved me from getting more of the same that comes with the base. I may get this down the road if I want to make my own dungeons but for now I am going to stick with what is in the base game.
Mine arrived on 8DEC, I was lucky in that only a few minis need the hot bath treatment. With the Adv Companion decks,I received five decks total,but two of deck01 and am missing deck03. Decks 02,04 and 05 are there. I filled out the missing items link with them,but only received an automated reply. I have no clue how long for the replacement deck. I like the look of the game,and I have Mantic minis on my to buy list,but I doubt I'll back another of their kickstarters.
Rob. do you have painted the TI3 minis? i saw the box back there and was wondering if it can be done. Played a friends copy of it and the first thing that came to mind was if the minis would look any good painted since theyre suposed to differentiate player from each other.

+robert oren Overall I like your video (Enough to be a new sub because of it ^.^ ) but there was a content list both on the kickstarter and on the Mantic Web store. The Skeletons are okay (the ones with the scythe stink but the sword/shield ones hold up). As someone who picked up everything at once on the KS (So I've got all the expansions and the Adventurer's companion) I can say that the random dungeon generator is great and the single player mode looks good (I'm going to play my first single player game tomorrow so I'll let you know). As far as the distribution SNAFU? It was 100% Alliance games fault. They had the shipment in early November (I forget the date) but didn't start shipping till the Monday after Thanksgiving (and were doing about 80/day at that). They actually lied to Mantic as well saying they had shipped all of the orders in the US by 3rd December however a friend's backer packages was post marked the Monday after (Dec 7th?). I have called and spoken with the folks at Mantic and they were really apologetic, apparently they've had a few people leave the company recently and it's caused all kinds of crap with communication issues too (I waited on an email reply to a question for 3 months before calling them). My recommendation is to give them a call and ask to speak with Ronnie. Good luck and thanks for the video.
Im trying to get my girlfriend into dungeon crawlers, would this be an ideal game to try, difficulty and attention wise? Was thinking of getting the adventurers companion to go with it. The other option was a game called bag of dungeon which I believe was kickstarted. Same idea but alot simpler and half the price. We have played zombies!!! together and she enjoyed that. Hi Robert. I've actually played solo play for this game; to be honest, it's a little... unclear, RAW. Mucho house ruling required. There's a FAQ on Jake Thornton's blog here: www.quirkworthy.com/2015/11/11/dungeon-saga-faq/ which makes some things a little clearer. There's also a downloadable PDF of the Adventurer's Companion if you wanted a sneak peak (although you won't be able to use much of it without the card decks).
Great vid! But I cant make up my mind. Should i buy Dungeon Saga or buy a used HeroQuest box from ebay? I would really like to get my hands on a old HQ box with most of it init, i did not play it as a kid, still new for me. Are Mantic gonna survive the "comeback" from GW with Bloodbowl, Epic, Necromunda etc.. And maybe *praytotheboardgamesgods* Heroquest? I love Dreadball from Mantic, but sadly its not so popular. And on a VERY popular miniaturemarket site they are selling Mantic products as "RIP" sale atm? Whats up with that? If they had the time & money to make more Dungeon Saga expansions, i might buy this game, otherwise i gonna keep searching the ebays & wait and see what GW gonna release :) Have a good one sir!

hey dude. really like your review. im a ks ds pledger and on thing im gonna tell you overall game is a beautifull product but its nothing like warhammer quest. first of all theres no fluff at all and solo/co-op rules against iq its a joke right now. Adventurers Companion you are ref too wasnt readproof so printed book is full of mistakes bugs and uncleared rules so yeah this one is full ups and downs ;)
+shithead2415 its a tough cookie caus it depends of preferences. its got simple and straight forward basic (as 4 the core game) rules. better strimlaned and i think i like them better. cards and tiles are the same quality as descent, minis are better detailed and i like it more than descent. but sometimes their bend nothin that hot water couldnt fix but still. in dungeons theres no exploration or nothin more than fight and opening locks. i dont like character scheets, they seem bit empty to me and there is only one picture of your character and legendary (leveled up) side have non just an empty space and overlord panel and scheets a bit flimsy. overall its a nice product beautifull book box and so one but thats it core game is yet another dungeon crawler. if you want something more from it you have to buy Adventurers Companion. there you find rules for traps and more monsters, leveling up, downtime, creating your own hero (some rules need urgent clarification cause they contradict eachother), uncharted dungeon creator(rules need faq) solo and co-op (pice of crap not bearly working sandbox) theres also no fluff and scenarios at all. so comparing to Warhammer Quest its lets say week and not what its advertised). mantic staits that all problems gonna be fix but for right now it is what it is. but dude its just my opinion. i own advanced heroquest and warhammer quest, dungeon saga was suppose to be better or equal and in terms of quality it is far more, but in any other in my opinnion games workshop still kick mantics ass
I won a £40 gameshop voucher at our Clubs Christmas Party last week so picked up the Dungeon Saga boxed game for an extra £5 of my own cash. The game looks amazing. I had to dip 4 or 5 figures into a cup of boiling water for about 10 seconds and then straighten then up. Once they cooled they remained in pose. I have now painted all the figures and furiture and they look fabulous painted. Hoping to get this on the table over Christmas. Although the Adventure Companion book has been delayed because of printing errors you can find a PDF copy on Jake Thorntons blog (quirkworthy.com/2015/11/11/dungeon-saga-faq/) on the Dungeon Saga FAQ page.
I'm still waiting for my Dark Souls the Boardgame pledge. I think it has been 3 years now that it's due? Maybe 4? It's always annoying/frustrating to wait for a game and either be lied to or not informed at all by the publisher, but I guess a few months is still okayish
Sorry you bought a lot of duplicate stuff. I wasn't sure was the Halls of Dolgarth was something new or not. The Legendary Heroes are different minis - they're your heroes 'levelled up' with all the magic equipment.

Im too disappointed of them, big shame that they show some beautiful add-ons, example:"resin counter upgrade" the items I received are nothing like the gorgeous ones they advertised. I only bought those addons to use them with shadows of brimstone, and bought 3 of them hehe.

to be frank, it does state what comes in the box set (doors et all).
But you needed to have the the box to know that. Mantic can be vague about what their contents are.

The irony here is that Dice Tower has more subscribers than Beasts of War and they paid for an advert week on that channel.

I'm still waiting for my Dark Souls the Boardgame pledge. I think it has been 3 years now that it's due? Maybe 4? It's always annoying/frustrating to wait for a game and either be lied to or not informed at all by the publisher, but I guess a few months is still okayish

Sorry you bought a lot of duplicate stuff. I wasn't sure was the Halls of Dolgarth was something new or not. The Legendary Heroes are different minis - they're your heroes 'levelled up' with all the magic equipment.

Im too disappointed of them, big shame that they show some beautiful add-ons, example:"resin counter upgrade" the items I received are nothing like the gorgeous ones they advertised. I only bought those addons to use them with shadows of brimstone, and bought 3 of them hehe.
