Well we've been absent for awhile on all fronts and haven't had time to "appear" anywhere...becoming the matriarch is no joke I've discovered. With so much going on for almost a year now I just really ran out of steam. Mitch and the cousins decided I needed to get a break so they all dragged me back to the Keys. I wasn't even sure we were even going right up until a few days before we left because Mom was having issues again...and we did end up cutting the trip short. As for the first day of the trip, I told Mitch it could have been worse...it could have been ME being vomited on!!!!! 🤢
We're trying to get our act back together now that Mom is in a good, stable position...and my cute tiny house is getting clean again! I have many videos lined up for editing so they're coming.

And then after I recovered from that I ended up getting the flu from hell..!! I'm here to tell you that COVID isn't nothing compared to the flu I had for about two and a half weeks... I was sick pretty much the whole month of January... But enough about me.. you're looking absolutely gorgeous as always Christine!!! I'm glad to see you and Mitch back on here 👍👍

Well, you handled the crappy start well! Haha! Good to see you! We have a timeshare in Midtown 45, the few times we go to NY we stay there. Looked like a good time! I don't know if it was the same rooster....they almost all looked the same this time around 😆 . We didn't get sick at all...we brought our fire cider and were religious about it daily! I was happy to get home to Mom though...all I did was worry.

Or was that a critique on Mitch's driving?? Hmmm... I'm glad to hear that you were able to have some fun in the Keys but I'm sad to have missed you this year. You have had a busy, stressful year so needed this little getaway. Take care now!
It was questionable that we were even going to go at all, right up until a couple days prior because of Mom. She was having other issues besides covid. I was convinced to just go, be prepared to fly back quickly if need be, and see if we could visit you and others as we made our way home. We did end up coming back quite early and making a dash for it. We so wanted to see you and sweet William again (and meet Bella!!!!), but we were grateful to see some of our cousins, have some R&R away from the stress for a short time, and enjoy some warmth and sunshine. It was a much needed break for me. I think the most stressful part was being forbidden from electronics other than my go pro for film and pictures and also my phone in case Mom needed me. No laptop, no internet, nothing! Talk about stress! 😆 🤣
In any caregiver situation, I am a firm believer that the individual (that would be YOU or Mitch, too) needs to take care of themselves in order to do their best for anybody else. You need to make time for yourself!
Y'all have all been in my thoughts. Omigoodness the sick travel companion! This reminds me of my little brother eating blueberry pop-tarts and puking them the whole way in the playpen cage in the back of the car. This was before car seats really existed, or seatbelt laws etc. I should probably have been testing since Christmas or slightly before, but haven't. It seems like every time I hike out for groceries which has been like ten or twelve days. I end up with something that feels like any of the three things it could be for another two weeks spastically coughing until I pass out multiple times, until I can crip down the street like Mrs-a-Wiggens & Tim Conway, holding onto the push handles of a heavy duty old school wheelchair that I can't instantly tip over sideways like what happens with any light east to transport in a vehicle walker. My chances of crossing the road in a timely way are better with the chair in case I have to lean over and body surf gripping the side rails for traction. I stealth across, because cars try harder to run over me, if they see me. I only turn on the undercarriage lights, at the controlled traffic light intersections, because in sparser uncontrolled crossings, they work more like a hypnotic lure for drivers who have left their houses video game brain mode. I just keep a giant closed container in the seat of the thing, to help me haul back groceries that I used to carry in backpacks on the front and back of myself when I was more free form walking. I can't wait for swimming to be on again. Loved hearing the waves! 🧜🏻♀️🌊 Glad you got away a little❣️ Good to hear your voices. 😊

It was so nice to see some of the cousins again. We hadn't seen any of them in a couple of years. A very nice break.

Key West we join up with family and stay 2 to 3 weeks. We stay on the Navy base for cheap rooms!
