Very creative, man you can do so much with these Keygroup Programs... It will be fun to look for sounds to combine. Thanks for another well communicated and useful tutorial!
PS: I almost missed this video thinking it was just a MPK Mini review looking at the thumbnail.

Hey @vertigev, thanks for watching as always! Good point about the thumbnail. I just changed it to include a picture of the Force. Thumbnails are definitely not my strong suit. :)

Very helpful! This whole time I thought I had to load each key group onto its own different track 😅
    This opens possibilities! Thanks!

Glad it was helpful, @josuearesav! I know my example was a little "pedestrian" here but I'd hoped that would make it more clear. This can be really powerful when you get more creative with it. Enjoy your new powers. :)

Excellent thanks. Gave me some good ideas for instruments!
I'd certainly welcome a video on the Akai mini plus, like you mentioned in the other comment.

Hey @vaiman7777, glad it got the ideas flowing. Thanks for watching. Will definitely consider a video about the mini plus!

Can this be used with midi channel's? As keyboard splits?

Can you explain how/why you pitched each sample and know how much to pitch them? Wouldn't you just make the root note whatever it says on the sample (A,C,F#..etc) ?

    • @joefilbrun
      @joefilbrun  ปีที่แล้ว

Sure. I was just doing it by ear in this video. Kind of like tuning a guitar I guess. But if you didn't want to do that, you could go into the sample editor and set the root note. Usually a sample you download will tell you what note it is in the file name.

I just noticed on one if your past vids I think it was the send effects vid.. great tutorial btw! But I noticed you had a Deepmind. Has the Force & DM combo been good to ya. I just found a deal on the DM 12d snatching up a KS37 also since it was desktop mod but was only just now able to start playing around with it. Can you create some content on the Force and DM work flow? I'm curious to how you route everything when using them together and I'm sure I'll have a few more questions soon. Thanks for the content

They work nicely together. Using Force with DM12 is not really any different than using Force with any hardware synth. MIDI out from Force into the DM, and audio out from DM into the Force. I might consider making some content around the DM12 and Force just because they're both fun! Thanks for the idea.

@@joefilbrun Perfect thanks for routing tip ... I'm looking forward to playing around with the two. I'll keep and eye out for your new vids!!

I am trying this again can you please lend me some inference.... keystep 37, akai force and DM12d. I know how to connect any two but how can I connect both keyboard and the DM12D to Akai Force?? I have the two midi adaptors, and every other cable but its my lack of understanding how these things chain... If I run keystep to Force using two midi cables and adaptors ... what I I connect to the DM12d the keystep or the Force? If I connect to force what cables should I be using ... I bet I am gonna need more midi adapts??? Aint I ??

Hi.....Because I often watch your videos and you are very familiar with the AKAI FORCE, how can we Force users also use the new MPC STEMS? Thanks so much

      1. Wait for a firmware update.
      2. ?
      3. Profit!
I don't know of any way to use it with Force right now. But I'm hoping it will make its way there before too long.
