Did a lot of tent camping with family and Boy Scouts in the late 40's and early 50's--then tent camped with our kids in the 1970's. 'Moments to remember.

Camping on Crowders in 1962 with 6 scouts and our leader, 7 miles from home with no cell phones. Magical!

Our family didn't do the outdoorsy stuff. I was always envious of the kids who had camping stories to tell in school. Lovely video! 👍👍👏👏

My aunt and uncle would take us camping in late summer. She prepared 3 extremely elaborate meals breakfast lunch and dinner both on a camp stove and an open fire every afternoon we would go huckleberry picking we always had Huckleberry pancakes plus many many other things for breakfast always ...fishing for trout for all meals they stayed for two-plus weeks my uncle was a hunter but I just remember all the Care and hard work my aunt and my mother her sister did on the same campsite camping every year I lost my aunt at 98 years old and my mom is going to be 101 in a few weeks

Lots of traditions like that no longer exist. Oh my, 98 and your mom is going to be 101!!! Wow....I hope you have your moms genes! My dad passed at 79. Mom will be 82 in June 2023. I tell her that I think I have her genes and that I'm rooting for her! lol. Thanks for watching and sharing a bit of your life. Love it!

    A+ video!
I love camping though I think it ruins the experience having the everyday luxuries.
Cars were so pretty back then.

Cars were works of art back in the day in my opinion. Family camping was in our family for decades. That ended over 40 years ago. :(

I camped all my life. I My parents had those tents. I like the tents back in the 1950's , now they have the dome tents which are really hard to get in and out of. I am in my 70's and I am still camp all summer but now I have a trailer.

Me too, but the camper is a 1965 Zipper. Can you still remember the smell of that old army tent?

I live in California where you need permission or have to pay fees or fines everywhere you try to go in the King’s woods. Takes the fun all out of it.

Well I myself don't do it story that I'm writing takes place where a modern girl has to go out with a bunch of sorcerers and survive just like you're talking about. Naturally they have to save the world but I incorporate a lot of what you're talkin about,; bonding around mealtimes trying to out fish each other talking as well as doing their magic and everything. No technology. I can say it's the story that I've been the most absorbed in writing. Get it published someday

Yep, no social media. Kids and adults actually talked with each other!
