Hooray, the "Learn Method" (at 6:20) worked for me after a few attempts. For me, the stumbling points were that the white LED light (at 7:06) does not go out, and the opener does not "click" but rather moves the garage door up / down. But anyway, by being patient, and adopting a few modifications, the "Learn Method" finally synched my Genie remote control with my Chamberlain garage opener unit. 👍 Thanks for saving me a technician service call!
So it took 3 methods to program our garage door openers. Thank you for putting this video out. I was working prior to this video for weeks with the written instructions. Less than 30 minutes for 3 remotes and 3 garage doors. Thanks again.
Awesome! I was able to get my remote door opener programmed to my 1993 Genie door after about 3 tries. I had the 12 dip switch numbers turned around. Thanks so much for your step-by-step instructions!
I guess people have different ease of comprehension because I did it with ease I used the manual. I’m just trying to program it to my front gate now and that’s why I am here haha
This video is misleading. 7:05 Nowhere in the instructions does it mention a white light, but on this video it does. When I gave up on trying to figure it out, I called Genie Customer Service, in which a nice lady answered and I told her my issue of not being able to pair my remote, in which she told me that these remotes under normal programming procedure should NEVER turn on a white light, in which the instrucctions never mention a white light anyways.
Tried complicated procedures repeatedly on Liftmaster operators with yellow and purple learn LEDs. After failing multiple times, I noticed button 2 I was using when programming the opener with purple LED worked on the operator with the Yellow program light. The instructions for this "universal" remotes are long, convoluted, and wrong.
I got it to work on 2 different garage doors with different brand openers! Just watch some different videos and follow the steps. I even got it to work with my homelink in my car!
There is a Liftmaster community gate at my apartment complex I am trying to program and I don't know how since there's no "learn" button for it. My car's homelink copied my original remote and opens it but I don't see anything in the manual about gates. The original remote has dip switches but Liftmaster does not show on the "teach and pair" list.
Will this remote work on an eagle gate opener with 8 dip switches? If so, how do i go about programming it? I didn't see anything for it the instructions. Thanks.
Love the video. But anyone have the problem where the garage chain just jerks but doesnt fully extend over and over during programming mode (Chamberlain-Purple button)??
I got my new universal remote to work but now my old remote isn’t corresponding with the garage opener. I know I shouldn’t have to change the code every time.
Easy Peasy... once I figured it all out! 😂 The key is knowing EXACTLY the type of garage door opener that you have. New owner, so there was no instruction manual, no old remote, nothing! I have a Liftmaster, but the thing that really helped me was realizing that I have an older model with a control panel on the wall inside the garage. The learn (program) button is there!
I have a Genie Pro Max Stealth opener. So I bought this since it's a Genie. So WHY does this video show instructions for Chamberlain and Craftsman???!!!
You will want to check and make sure your garage door opener is compatible. You can see more details here on page 2, chart B. www.geniecompany.com/files/en/programming-dipswitches/4-button-universal-remote . Once you confirm, if you still need assistance, please contact Genie customer service at 1-800-354-3643.
If you are experiencing reduced range, then you may have interference related issues. Please reach out to us so we can assist you further. 1-800-354-3643
I solved that issue by splicing a wire from the antenna to the frame of the garage door essentially turning the whole thing into an antenna. Might work for you but I can use this remote from at lease 25ft away from the garage door now.
Complicating to program. Finally got it to work but it only works when you’re in the garage, which defeats the purpose of the remote. Lol. It has no range at all.
Typically low range is a result of radio frequency interference, ensure your antenna wire is hanging down and not tucked in the light cover, and if you are using non-Genie LED or CFL bulbs remove them and try again
Could you please try a little harder to make a more frustrating and difficult process AND then make the speed of the instructions on the video just slightly too fast for people to actually follow along? Please.

Dipswitch section was very helpful! Thank you!

The teach and pair method is the only one that worked for my chamberlain and lift master
Thank you for the content. It worked exactly as you demonstrated.
Instructions are terrible!
Video was helpful.
Works like a charm.
This video is misleading. 7:05 Nowhere in the instructions does it mention a white light, but on this video it does. I still can’t program the garage even when following the steps
Reach out to us at 1-800-354-3643 Thank you

The box said EASY TO USE so I bought it. BULL BUTTER!
Sorry to hear you are having trouble with the remote. You can contact Genie customer service at 1-800-354-3643 for programming assistance.

Now I know why the installer did not want to program this remote. Totally complicated.
Then I wouldn't trust that installer lmao, sounds like he needs to choose a new career path or retire
i love this video took my 2 1/2 hours but I did IT yayyyyy
It’s impossible hooking these up! Not quick at all NOT easy haha.
I literally just got one and it's a damn nightmare connecting to the lift master

Amazingly complex. This is what you get when developers write functionality (not customers)
Thank you so much for the awesome instructions
Most households have more than one vehicle… so how do I program the second remote to work? Are we supposed to share one for the whole family?
You would go through the same steps for each remote, you just do not go through the clearing process of the memory.
I got it I got it !!!!🎉🎉🎉
Took a long time almost returned it. I have the 12 dipstick
Thanks
Will this remote work on an eagle gate opener with 8 dip switches? If so, how do i go about programming it? I didn't see anything for it the instructions. Thanks.
Will this work with linear multi-code?
This will work with Linear 318 MHz, Mega Code.
Took me less than five minutes, thank you!
And cloning isn’t working out for me whenever I try it. Any help?
I watch this video over 100 times still cannot get it programmed neither one of my garage doors.
Whole time is also two hours and a half to reach a tech this is ridiculous
The fourth button just shows a solid white LED and nothing else.
I gave up and threw away upset. Didn't save the box and couldn't get a return. Neither paper nor video instructions worked. Ridiculous!!
@@ramirosanchez7007 i took a break and I got it but the clip is the issue now now to put it on smh
I tried it and got it on my first attempt 3:06 shows how
Thank you I literally programmed my garage in less than a min!

H Good Morning, Please ... i. How can I program a GU4TR-R /PM 40657R to open my Door King Gate entry ? (318mhz)
If Door King is not listed on the compatibility list, then it will not work on this product
Lift master does it have a battery
First try didn’t even have to watch the whole instructions for my brand
I have a Genie Pro Max Stealth opener. So I bought this since it's a Genie. So WHY does this video show instructions for Chamberlain and Craftsman???!!!
I’m trying to pair a 10 dip switch remote to this and it won’t pair no matter what way i use, it doesn’t have a learn button
You will want to check and make sure your garage door opener is compatible. Does this work with linear garage
Works with Linear garage door openers that use 318MHz frequency with Mega Code technology
I got it to open but it won't close
I only have 8 dip switches
did you ever figure out the 8 dip switch? i'm in the same boat
Doesn’t work with my Q units?
This will work with Chamberlain models shown on this compatibility list: www.geniecompany.com/files/en/compatibility-chart/4-button-universal-remote
I can't get it to work on my My Q Chamberlain unit either.
I want to talk to the dipswitch who thought this was a great idea. I usually have no problem programming stuff.
Don’t get mad at him cause u can’t do shit
Tried to program it to my opener to no avail….. pissed me of
Please call us we can walk you through it 1-800-354-3643
Can I program this just with the original remote
Range is really short with this remote

Remote failure 😢

Good to see this up it helps 🫡
