You can talk with your primary care physician for a referral, contact your health insurance company, or search the web. They can give you a clear look at your hearing health and provide counseling as needed!
Dan, thank you for the comment! You can use MCL +10 as your starting level for WRS, for sure! Just like SRT starting levels, there are multiple correct ways of finding that starting level. As long as you can reference your method and it works for you and your patients then you are on the right track!
SRT is a speech version of pure-tone audiometry, which makes the stimulus sound softer and softer to seek a threshold. WRS is a suprathreshold test, which maintains the stimulus level the same through the entire test. Also, the SRT test uses spondees and has a familiarization section, while the WRS test uses monosyllables without a familiarization section.
This is not SDT, SDT is Speech Detection Threshold. Speech Detection Threshold asks the patient to respond when they are first able to detect speech. why do we do SRT and Word Recognition testing? Why do we need both?
