That area, as you are taking your kayak in Rush/Grant but floating towards Silver used to be just a stream from Rush to Grant...way back my grandfather used to hunt ducks on Grant...very cool!

Yes with the water so high with two good winters back to back you can access into rush creek pretty easily with the kayak.

I noticed that while you are playing a fish in the kayak the minn kota motor is constantly moving around on its own. What is causing that? It's like an auto pilot mode is moving it.

@@GoldenStateFishing thanks Estevan. I thought it was something like that. Very cool feature to have when u find a spot with fish. I love your rigs! They must be super heavy though with all the goodies. Not car toppers for sure.

Stockers are always easy to catch! Native Trout, not so much that's the challenge! I suggest up your game to barbless hooks and you don't have to handle the fish!

@@offgridselfteliant caught millions of both been fishing for 35 years and jigging for 30 I do use barbless some times but I know how to handle them and always wet hands . Thanks for watching

@@GoldenStateFishing millions? Lol okay tell me another fish story! I've fished for 55 years entered tournaments, fished gold medal waters and miracle mile and once got a license for a keeper in a Colorado state lottery fishing the stretch between Spiney spillway and eleven mile lake! Got lucky and landed a 16lb 8 oz. Rainbow I didn't have the heart to keep. Colorado has some of the best conservation in the states in the upper lakes!
      Cheesman pronounced
( cheese man ) rules are no boats of any kind, no camping, no overnight stays, walk in only, 2 fish limit, north shore fishing only, no pets, 212 feet dam. 100 year old reservoir, been this way for 15 years! There's only 4 miles of shore you can fish and it's a grueling hike of a mile just to get to where you can fish! Sadly the walk to cross the dam you can notice that big shadows move in what looks like shadows. In reality, it's 30 feet of water and your looking down seeing the lake bed. It's breath taking! Yet you can not fish there. You have a 1 hour walk to be able to start fishing! Records swim in those waters! The spillway has behemoth browns in the shadows, kokanee salmon, rainbows, etc all catch and release with some of the most educated fish on the planet! They watch fisherman like they are studying them.
Closed from Oct. To April both stream and lake. The lake having almost 80,000 surface acres! Drones are a big no no and you need to be in shape to make it to the stream and back, and no there's no handicap access! Crystal clear waters!
Eleven mile reservoir has no body to water contact! Meaning it's illegal to wash your hands off in the water after catching your fish! Never leave a rod in the water even to run to camp and get coffee! They are like vultures there and will be waiting for you with your pole reeled in and a ticket needing your autograph for unattended rod. Half the lake has no human access, meaning your not allowed there even in shore and a 1/2 mile string of bouys marks the do not enter restricted waters. No lawn chair, blanket, no coffee pot allowed shore line fishing. No live bait, no skiing, no hot rodding your boat. Again, records in the water.
Last year the world record Lake Trout fell at 73.29 pounds at another resorvoir and the brook or speckled trout hasn't been broken since 1947 was broken at the state level!
I prefer size 20 on fluorocarbon using midges and mysis! Quit using a spinning reel or bait caster years ago! A barbless 20 gives a good shot of a solid hook set.
But I've fished all my life and never will I catch a million! I would have to live to 100, and catch 3 fish each and every day to catch a million fish!

@@offgridselfteliant I’ll give it to you for writing all that lol sounds like some definite good times . I’ve definitely caught over a million fish probably over ten years ago and especially now that I do it for a living for the past 4 years . Keep on getting them . Good luck and thank you .
