Put myself through some absolute dross here haha, would be much appreciated if you could drop us a like and check to see if you're subcribed as we push towards 100k! I've got some big videos coming soon, including a trip to Asia, appreciate your support as always!
I would have rated the London Eye as the worst rip-off. The Tower of London is more than just the Crown Jewels but it helps if you are interested in history.
If you buy the London pass, especially if you get it on sale, you can squeeze all of these things in, and its a fraction of the cost. I wouldnt pay the individual entry prices, but we did them with the pass and had a great experience
The Tower of London is an easy three hour or so experience. If you aren’t interested in much other than the Jewell’s it is a waste of money, but those who enjoy history can certainly get their money's worth in time and exploring. I’ve been three times now and still find it fascinating. Although, the first couple of occasions it was £29 or so… not £34. Those busses though!! Worst of the lot. Uncomfortable, cold and can’t see the sites on the opposite side as someone usually stands in the way to get a picture. Better just getting the tube to the nearest station and walking to them.
The first Hard Rock Cafe was actually the one near Hyde Park, an American restaurant but began in London, fond memories going there as a kid, it has it's purpose.
Love the concept of this video! With traps like these I always tend to value them at what it ideally costs to run them. Jewels sitting in a display that you walk past? They’re paying for what there? A wax museum with a ride, theatre, probably a solid aircon bill? Makes a bit more sense. Usually aquariums make the most sense, especially with a wide selection of animals, due to upkeep and whatnot… but they’re still so expensive and once you’ve seen one they’re all fairly similar.
Second part to this video should be things you can do for free. Horizon 22 is good for a view of the city, different markets across the city to wander through and get free samples (free food for a day in London?), St James park to see all the birds… that sort of thing!
Hack for the shard: go up to the bar and spend the £28 there instead. It’s very expensive but the view is just as good as from the top, you get to sit down somewhere nice and flashy, and you get a few drinks too 👍🏼
I like the bus tours iin London as they have multiple routes you can change between and it helps to see a lot of the main sights of London a lot easier in a day. Yes, it is expensive but they also have an audio guide to tell you what you are looking at and if you see somewhere interesting that you want to stop at then you can get off and then get back on at any point in the day. There was too much to see when I went with my sister so it definitely needs 2 days really but we went all around Hyde Park area, saw the Royal Albert Hall and then did the part by the Houses of Parliament. We didn't have time to do the part towards the Eastern side. It was also quite fun sitting upstairs on the bus with a small amount of snow falling too.
Yehhh what a treat. One of my newly subscribed to faves. Think I could watch any content with you in it. Ed, not sure what you’ve got but it’s special. Thanks for entertaining us 🙌🙌😀
I think the British Museum is free and that's worth half a day. So is the National Gallery and other art museums. St. Paul's and Westminster Cathedral is a 25 pound ticket but better than the London Eye.
Great video! I'm surprised you didn't enjoy the tower- I spent hours there! Loved the ravens, the armory, and the free tours by the Beefeaters who live there. And they put on little shows! But then I love all that history.. definitely not worth that money if you don't care about the history stuff!
First ever Hard Rock Cafe was in London off Park Lane, and it's still there. Tip for the London Eye when it's wet and miserable. Take photos from the bottom half of the pod, where the rain doesn't settle.
I think ... and my thinks are spasmodic but of value ... is you hit the nail on the head after the bus tour. You said half the tourists next to you had no idea what they were looking at. THOSE are tourists that fall into the traps. I am sitting here in little NZ, with a head full of knowledge, possibly more than some Londoners, i love love love history. If I were in London, food wouldn't even be on my list. Would probably just pack cucumber sandwiches.😂 The crown jewels?? That would enthrall me, I'd spend ages there taking in the vibe, understanding everything I've learned has become tangible. It, to me, would be worth the €10 or was it more? 😂😂😂 ... Wax museum? Yeah nah. The aquarium.... nature wins out every time. Those would be the two things I'd do. Then I'd probably go stare at the King's guard horses and wait for them to nip someone.
calling newton a nutty was so funny. 🤣🤣🤣 and so nice to see the cab ride experience still at madam tussards. visited back in the 90s as a kid and was amazed at the wax works
as a londoner I've never been in any of these places except the aquarium, because they are all too expensive and when I went to the fish place it was £17 no penguins then, but they did have a weird sort of fish petting zoo where you could touch the fish and there was octopus in that petting fish bit.
Madam Tussauds - Completely pointless attraction, melt it down and make scented candles. London Eye - Impressive when it opened and a good view in decent weather but it's overpriced and no longer considered that tall - knock it down and build one twice the size Sea life - Honestly, one of the few tourist attractions I actually really appreciate. It's got to cost a lot to support all that life and they do rehabilitation work as well so I'll let them off with a high ticket price. Tower of London - Impressive but completely overpriced, charging the same for that as sea life is disgusting. I'll pay a fiver. Bus Tour - Just get on a normal double decker bus. You'll see just as much and not have to pay £40 for the privilege
Madame Tussauds should DEFINITELY have a Hun Room; a space with leopard print wallpaper, featuring Katie Price, Kerry Katona, Gail Platt, The Gemma Collins etc - and you press a button and they speak their famous lines, like, you press the waxwork of Kat Slater and it says; "I didn't become a little bit of a sl*g... I became a total sl*g"! But re: Tower of London, I spent hours there! It is incredible value for money if you are interested in British history, or even if you just watched Wolf Hall, there is so much to see - who on earth is going there JUST to see the crown jewels?? Plus the ticket includes the hugely entertaining Yeoman Warder tour, which is a must-do.
The other ironic part of the Tower of London is you can do just about everything but see the Crown Jewels without a ticket? I went a year and a half ago and wandered around the grounds and what not without paying anything. Don’t remember if I saw the torture part without paying or not, but a fun stroll.
I went to M&M world in 2015, I spent £20 for personalised M&M’s. They packaged them in a plastic cup, like a Starbucks cup, except it didn’t even have any branding on it. If I’m paying TWENTY POUNDS (back then you’d get the same amount of m&m’s for £2 at a Tesco and they’d come in a bag!) the least you can do is package them properly. Absolute worst of the tourist traps.
I have used the hop on and off buses in Napoli. It was expensive but I used them all day as transport as well as sight-seeing and what we saw on there informed the rest of our trip. I thik I would do it again in other places too.
I have done them in Barcelona, London, Oxford, Cambridge and Bournemouth and all were great ways to see the area easier in one day and then can just get on and off at any time. Bournemouth was great as I can't drive so got to see other areas outside of Bournemouth that I had never been to before (or went to as a young child but couldn't remember them).
I couldn't agree with you more, Ed - I have two memories of my one-and-only visit to Madame Tussands in 1974: one being that nobody got anywhere near any of the waxworks, which were literally arranged in viewing galleries you just walked around and looked at; and when we came out, my father gave me 50p to get us each an ice-cream from the van parked outside - and couldn't believe that I didn't have enough money, as they were 25p each - I mean, for one scoop out of tub you could probably buy in one of them new-fangled supermarkets - like, the really enormous 25,000-square foot ones that we'd never yet even set our eyes upon! But, right enough, you got a whole, paper-wrapped brick for 11p at the local Co-op and for 4p, you got a flake in your cone as well, from the ice-cream vans that came down our street at that time! Likewise, all I remember about the Tower of London is Beefeaters, the Crown Jewels and lots of queues... You only got Big Wheels in fairgrounds back then, and penguins in zoos - although there were a few fish tanks at the dentist's... As for sitting where directed by bus-men and not being charged for the privilege, I naturally couldn't possibly comment...!
I’ve done all but the Hard Rock Cafe on a previous holiday ;). I’m in London now and was thinking of going to the Hard Rock Cafe this time, but even before you mentioned it I could see that was a dry burger. So that’s off the list!
Clearly, you are the better-looking twin♥🤣. I think the London Eye is the worst tourist trap in London. I loved watching the fish. I love the videos, Ed. Have a great Friday and weekend. ♥♥
Great editing ed and your at your high standard of humour as usual, your the only youtuber i properly laugh with and yes why dont the sharks eat the other fish, maybe they are vegan like you said, the mind boggles
One time the London eye is worth the money……when you’ve taken 30 6 years old on a school trip on the hottest day of the year and it’s the first place there is air conditioning 😂
I feel like something like the London eye is of a different time. It is easy today to think of it as just a wheel that goes slowly but imagine it in Dicken's time.
As i visit London and Uk yearly, i never do any of those places except Tower of London which my partner and I supposed to go but was sold out. Other than that, I never find Madam Tussands interesting and wont spend a cent to enter. But i do love, aquariums, historical castles and museums but £35 for an aquarium is a bit too much. Maybe £20-25. Also, C can just get $1/ £1 hotdog at ikea lol
Food in the USA beats any other country since it is the best melting pot of any country. West has a ton of Asian and Mexican influence in flavor, South has about 5 BBQ regions Memphis, Texas, Carolina, Oklahoma , From Florida to Maine the best Seafood, New York and Texas with the top rated steakhouses in the world.
Come on man. USA is just faux everything. Tbe best Italian food is in Italy, likewise Mexican, Indian and any other food. The level of arrogance in American, even though it's obvious every time one of you speaks, is still shocking.
I'm surprised by the Hard Rock Cafe, I used to work in one in Malta and the food was excellent. Guess it depends on the franchise owners. Either that or it's gone massively downhill in the 9 years since I worked there.
The UK Ed Sheeran is much better than the one in Branson Missouri, US. It's also a Madame' Tussauds. However you entry ticket allows you to get pictures with an you waxworks you fancy . Also entry tickets there cost $26.98 or about £20.98. So it's about £5 less in the U.S. as well as free photos and a free tacky neck lanyard here. But I must say the London waxworks are more realistic. I have kiddos so sadly I've been to both.
Out of all those places, the only place I would be willing to spend any money at all is the aquarium. I wouldn't go for the rest even if it costed next to nothing.. Okay I might take the big bus if it was cheaper than public transport (which it definitely isn't).
Hard Rock Cafe - sh*t Madame Tussauds - sh*t - in fact worse than that, because "what's the point?" I quite liked the Crown Jewels visit - but you only need to do it once. Watch out for the "optional" 12½% "service charge" that's appearing. We talked to some staff about this - turns out the staff don't get it. (ask to cancel it and give the staff £5 - £10 direct instead) London Eye - once again, it's good on a sunny day, but daft if the cloud and rain is in. RE: Hot Dog - well, the vans are always pricy. better off packing a tesco/sainsbury 'meal deal'
Most zoos/aquariums are quite expensive but I don’t mind because hopefully the money goes towards the animals. Probably, the only one that was worth the price
I just had a look at the "Tower Bridge Experience", where you can actually go up and walk over the old Victorian bridge walkways . . . £13.40p. Last time I went past there, it was a Fiver! That was probably almost 30 years ago though :D
My only experience of a Madame Tussauds... I got creeped out by the statues and belted through it in 15 minutes, I almost bumped in to 'Will Smith' and apologised to him, he didn't answer. He was wax. He just stared off in to the middle distance... Much like I did after my visit... Free tickets, not worth it.
Well thank you for your tour of Londons highlights HA !. Very expensive , i haven't been to London so it was interesting enough though. You are such a likeable fellow Ed. I would like to be your friend. From Carl in New Zealand.
The reason why they are so expensive is because it is for tourists, they are only there maybe once and for a short time so they pay it. It is disgusting really. Great vlog mate
Why don't you do a follow-up video on all of the free things in London & how much they are actually worth. The Natural History Museum, Museum of London, National Gallery etc. You could even throw in some parks & gardens. I honestly think the free stuff is so much better than any of the tourist traps (although I do actually like the aquarium). 😊
At college we went to the London aquarium, we had no idea we were allowed to leave and go and explore London though. So while my group were bored being in there all day, I just put my phone up to the glass of a shark tank and was tapping and fiddling with it as I took photos and a video All of a sudden a security guard comes sprinting, like charging full force at me, his eyes are locked onto me and he looks both petrified and filled with rage. However as he is maybe a few inches from tackling me, he suddenly stops, stares at me and my phone, then walks off and starts talking into his radio My group had no idea what was going on at first, but then we realised, from the other side of the tank people saw me put a black rectangle up against the glass, then start tapping it. Yeah, it was then quite easy to figure out what was going on! My friends and I then left and went to the nearby arcade, as we felt maybe I shouldn't be in the aquarium any more
I love M&M World! Never queued to get in, and it's been years since I went. But last time I went I made myself a large bag of blue gradient M&M's :3 Probably was super expensive, can't remember, but I did enjoy it! The chocolate smell was lovely!
Put myself through some absolute dross here haha, would be much appreciated if you could drop us a like and check to see if you're subcribed as we push towards 100k! I've got some big videos coming soon, including a trip to Asia, appreciate your support as always!
Expensive day out Ed, rip off London 😮
Ed if you coming to Malaysia let’s meet up 😂😂
@edchapman23 you sir are a legend
Asia or Asda? 😂
@edchapman23 Happy to show you around Vietnam, I've been here for 8 years now, I know the wacky and the wonderful 😂
When have you ever seen orange and white together..............spoken by a pale ginger man 😂😂
I came on to make a similar comment, being pale and ginger myself and you’ve beaten me to it 😂 Good form 👍😂
I would have rated the London Eye as the worst rip-off. The Tower of London is more than just the Crown Jewels but it helps if you are interested in history.

yeah I've considered doing this type of video before, maybe I will!
Primrose hill for the view!
Hack for the shard: go up to the bar and spend the £28 there instead. It’s very expensive but the view is just as good as from the top, you get to sit down somewhere nice and flashy, and you get a few drinks too 👍🏼
Primrose hill is great too.. Or I just go to the "sky lounge" in my mate's flat in SW8 hahah
A couple of other high rise are free in London..
I like the bus tours iin London as they have multiple routes you can change between and it helps to see a lot of the main sights of London a lot easier in a day. Loving this travel / out and about content. Keep it up!
The view from the Sky Garden in the walkie talkie building is better than the wheel, and it's free, plus a bar up there 😊
I think the British Museum is free and that's worth half a day. So is the National Gallery and other art museums. St. Paul's and Westminster Cathedral is a 25 pound ticket but better than the London Eye.
Also the Natural History Museum, Science Museum and the V&A Museum - I've spent many hours there, free.
Literally every single free to enter museum is more interesting and fun than what he showed in this video!
Go to a evensong service for free at st Paul's most evenings , you get to look around afterwards, great music .
Great video!
I'm surprised you didn't enjoy the tower- I spent hours there! Loved the ravens, the armory, and the free tours by the Beefeaters who live there. And they put on little shows!

I thought you would include the London Dungeon, but maybe thats too awesome to be in this video
London dungeon, total rip off now, not the same since the move from Tooley st.
Ed is what happens when you combine the DNA of Ricky, Steve and Karl
K-Man :)
Eds got a face that he will look younger when he 50 😊

Actually the very first hard rock cafe was opened in London in 1971 I believe. So it's English
Correct on old park lane.
I want to see you do a flix bus from London to Turkey. Would be an amazing video
If you like orange and white Ed, you would love a Blackpool home kit!
I just went to the lookout 50 floors up free viewing tower at Bishopsgate ...amazing sunset over Thames .
Clearly, you are the better-looking twin♥🤣. I think the London Eye is the worst tourist trap in London. I loved watching the fish. I love the videos, Ed. Have a great Friday and weekend. ♥♥
When I went to the Tower of London, they had actors dressed up doing a reconstruction, it was quite entertaining. Wasn't too bad.
The Shrek Experience next to the London Eye would have been a good one!
The Hard Rock Cafe in Reykjavík was lovely, and actually kinda upmarket, go there instead 😂
Great editing ed and your at your high standard of humour as usual, your the only youtuber i properly laugh with and yes why dont the sharks eat the other fish, maybe they are vegan like you said, the mind boggles
6:42 do what to the fish???? Erm think you chose the wrong term 😂😂
We love you, Ed! My family and I always look forward to watching your videos together ❤
One time the London eye is worth the money……when you’ve taken 30 6 years old on a school trip on the hottest day of the year and it’s the first place there is air conditioning 😂
"when have you ever seen orange and white put together"
Looks in mirror 😂
Thanks Ed this is very helpful. I'm never visiting London 😂
You should have done the natural history museum!!! It’s amazing, and FREE
My favorite places in London are Churchill War Rooms and HMS Belfast
I went on the Singapore Flyer once and got sooooooo bored halfway round. I’ll never go on another eye thing!
Love this guy been watching since he first started posting love the honesty hahahah 😂
Ed poking the Polar bear at 9:12
Buy a big fish tank, Ed! You'd love working to build it and learn about it. It would make great content too. It sounds boring, but it isn't.
Isn't Big Ben the bell in the tower not the tower itself? I think I learned that on one of those Big Bus rides.
The Elizabeth Tower is what Big Ben sits in.
I feel like something like the London eye is of a different time. It is easy today to think of it as just a wheel that goes slowly but imagine it in Dicken's time.

What about the London Zoo, the London Dungeons and Sky Garden?

Easily the thing that impressed me most are your maths skills!
Most zoos/aquariums are quite expensive but I don’t mind because hopefully the money goes towards the animals. Probably, the only one that was worth the price
You missed the best place in the tower Ed man!!! The fusilier museum of the greatest regiment in the British army
First time I ever went to the tower of London was I think 2010 and it was £17 but I would say it is the best day out in central London
I just had a look at the "Tower Bridge Experience", where you can actually go up and walk over the old Victorian bridge walkways . . . £13.40p.
Last time I went past there, it was a Fiver!
That was probably almost 30 years ago though :D
walkways are glass bottomed now.
Madam Tussaud , quick your Ed Sheeran is escaping 😁
My only experience of a Madame Tussauds... I got creeped out by the statues and belted through it in 15 minutes, I almost bumped in to 'Will Smith' and apologised to him, he didn't answer. He was wax. He just stared off in to the middle distance... Much like I did after my visit... Free tickets, not worth it.
You should see the Tussards in Krakow 😅😂
Well thank you for your tour of Londons highlights HA !. Very expensive , i haven't been to London so it was interesting enough though. You are such a likeable fellow Ed. I would like to be your friend. From Carl in New Zealand.
At least the water at Sealife was cleaner than the Sealife in Brighton
The reason why they are so expensive is because it is for tourists, they are only there maybe once and for a short time so they pay it. It is disgusting really. Great vlog mate
I am heading to London within few weeks, THANKSSSSS FOR THIS VID Ed 😂😂😂🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
"Take your memories home with you." ...I am not sure they understand what memories are...because that's what you do with all of them...
I pay 1 quid for the Tower being a Tower Hamlets resident - great attraction for that fee!
At 2.33 no Jimmy Savile haha
You should have done public transport around London. I'd be curious about you doing a video on free London.
Another banger nice one Ed mate 🎉🎉
4:37 so that's why you don't have a misses
When there's a wax of Lazerpig, I'll go 2 Madam Tussauds
We can't keep you away from that there London!
The tower of London if you like history is totally worth the price. The London eye absolutely not worth it.
Whilst hosting our American friends, we nearly succumbed to such traps, we instead did a pub crawl, far more enjoyable and worth the money.
When I went on the London eye ten years ago, the cost to value ratio was nowhere near that bad, £30 is a rip off 😂
We liked tower! There is quite a lot u can do free inc museums and a viewing platform higher than shard one. Video of free stuff to do in London?
Told my mate about you, and he’s subscribed. We think you’re hilarious 😂
I could do with my head noshing off aswell 😂
At college we went to the London aquarium, we had no idea we were allowed to leave and go and explore London though. So while my group were bored being in there all day, I just put my phone up to the glass of a shark tank and was tapping and fiddling with it as I took photos and a video
All of a sudden a security guard comes sprinting, like charging full force at me, his eyes are locked onto me and he looks both petrified and filled with rage. However as he is maybe a few inches from tackling me, he suddenly stops, stares at me and my phone, then walks off and starts talking into his radio
My group had no idea what was going on at first, but then we realised, from the other side of the tank people saw me put a black rectangle up against the glass, then start tapping it.
Love this, but you missed London Dungeon, which is actually really good!
can't film in there sadly
Please please ED stop eating your burger with a knife and fork !!
NEVER!
@ 😂😝
They are good family attractions, probably not a single lad
Imagine if the hotdog disagrees with you and you’re stuck on the wheel?????
