As a black child this movie was so appealing and calming.
Why? It's about incest? How is that calming? No shade just curious if you know the nuances
Yes , we’re not always hustling and bustling, doing the most. This film was definitely calming and I loved that it was eve’s point of view.. southern living and not inner city

I so love and appreciate that you opened the commentary with my father's recording of "I Pretend I'm Loving You" from the films opening dance sequence. To this day it's one of the great highlights of my life to see his music assoiciated with such a brilliant and beautiful film.

Just watched it with my daughter (13) and I think the last time I watched it I was 13. Will always be a favorite movie!!!
I hate it when people call this movie underrated. I get why people say that but y’all don’t realize that it’s a slight to this remarkable game changing movie….there is nothing ‘under’ about it. It does deserve more recognition and acclaim….that is the frequency that we should operate from when describing this beautiful film. It’s so important to me and my being that I feel we must speak light into it at all times, anything else is unacceptable

I love this movie.
While it’s a blessing when everyone’s schedule can align to meet for a reunion, I recognize that it’s not always possible. As Jurnee mentioned on this vid, she learned to “shift and remain flexible” throughout this pandemic that we are still in to this day. I enjoyed hearing from these 5, especially Lynn & her Skin So Soft reference 😆.
Terence Blanchard is the man when it comes to music! 🎺
The music was everything in that movie.
I was born and raised in Louisiana and married a navy solider by 😲 surprise from 🆕 Orleans but I'd like to write too a movie like eves Bayou or Ruby's Bucket of Blood or Their Eyes were watching god or just any south summer movie is just everything to me
