Update, drove for 20 miles across london in traffic and free flowing traffic and my PDK gear box is working like i have a new one after the reset!!, im hoping it stays like that, but have to say this video saved me alot of money!! I actually thought ny gearbox had a major problem but this reset sorted it right out, thank you so much!!!
Update: this doesn’t solve the longterm problem this is a symptom of whats about to happen!! As soon as this problem starts go a get warranty or make sure u have, your PDK gearbox is about to fail, either the speed sensor or distance sensor will fail, your car will not reverse or will be stuck in 3,5,7 gear, although its just a sensor INSIDE the gearbox Porsche refuse to replace, sell, or service inside the gearbox, so they will charge you £10,00.00+ to change the whole transmission unless u have warranty, trust me no one else will be able to do this job, apart from sports and classic based in Manchester UK and they charge £8,000, it just happened to me, porsche gave me a new gearbox, and now there is zero lag across all 7 gears and no crunch noise between 1 and 2, it feels like a brand new car. Trust me, Get warranty ASAP if you experience crunch between 1st an 2nd gear and any sort of lagging, you will wake up one morning and your car wont reverse
I tried it this morning on my 2011 Panamera 4. I have to say that I do notice a subtle difference. The PDK is running a bit smoother now I guess. But it is very subtle. Because you don’t get any feedback after running the procedure it might as well be a placebo effect.
This worked for my 2013 Panamera. PDK is well maintained and I go easy on it, but it would have a mild surging in 2nd and 3rd. This reset smoothed it out.
Mine was very well maintained 2018 Caymen GTS, go easy and never raced, when i told Porsche ive never raced it, they said ‘well u should have The PDK gearbox is made for racing’ with which I replied obviously not this particular one 😂
Ive just tried it on my caymen gts 2018 didnt have a chance to fully test it but first impressions seems to have smoothed out 1s an 2nd gear but need a longer test…. Update to come (not keyless entry model)
I was wondering the same thing. Sadly no one responded to your question. The instructions seems to leave certain parts a bit vague. It says close the door and lock it, but does that mean the door was left open during the entire procedure? Or does that mean you have to get out of the car then close the door and lock it? Either way that important detail is left out and requires you to do the procedure both ways in the hope that one will work. The only problem is it will now take 20 minutes to complete instead of 10. Lol.
it works 100% I did this on a porsche macan s 2019 the car drives good only that it shifts gears higher in revs, the consumption will decrease a lot for example at 41km / h the car is in 5th gear now in the past it was in 4th gear. I had a porsche cayenne 957 from 2009 and I reset its tiptronic gearbox it changed gear a lot smother after the reset , how I did: I opened the car (cold) I turned on the timer phone I turned off PCM , headlights and climate and I started the timer and the car 3 minutes after which I pressed the A / C button and I continued for another 3 minutes after which I got out of the car with the key in my pocket I locked the car and I came back in 1 minute the car has keylessgo
Had gear change lag, tried lots of these quick fixes, turns out it was a dodgy injector. If this reset doesnt work, get injectors checked. Panamera 3.0 diesel 2014
This is not the reset procedure. This is what you should do after reflash of DME and PDK control unit. And the engine should have a specified temperature.
Hello there, its totally fine to do it with the key fixed in the ignition (keyless go) I tryed it this morning and its totally working Al Hamdu lellah ♥️
Hello guys, I know its too late comminting on this Vid, BUT, for people who are wondering about (If THIS IS WORKING) the answer is 100% yes and its TRUE.. My Issue was: (I have a 2014 Panamera GTS) 1/ when I’m in normal mode, trying to enter a L/R turn at slow speed (less than 10KMH) pushing just a hair on the speed baddle, the car jumps forward making as if the engine is gonna turn off.. 2/ When I’m in the traffic Jam/light, wanna move a hinch forward, the car jumps also and the RPM is go above 2 and 3 downing to less than 1 in a sudden.. THE REASON FOR THIS THING IS: 1/ in the past weeks I was driving the car too aggressive.. 2/ I was doing alot of (Lunch Controls).. So the transmission is confused.. BUT.. I tryed this method as it was written here (morning , when the engine and transmission are cold).. I have an option for a keyless go, and I haven’t take out the fixed key, and thank Allah it was working for me from the frist time.. (althought my friend has to do it two times) THE RESULT IS: problem is 100% sloved.. tha car felt normal and comfort again, I tryed turning on full circuls L/R.. its completely fine now.. Last thing is last.. thank you to this video publisher.. & as you can see English is not my first language but I tryed my best here.. drive save & salut to all of GTS beatiful owners from all of the world.. 4.8 N/A forever ♥️♥️♥️~
Transmission got dizzy after doing a couple of laps in race track, found this video and pdk goes back to normal on my cayman 981 Thanks diagnostic world 🍻

Your dash will say ‘no R gear safe to drive’, the code for this problem is P1734, P1733,P1732, P1731

When you says "remove the key" are you referring to the ignition key on the lef hand? Or the remote key (mini car appareance)?
Thanks in advance

Glad it worked for you 👍🏾, wouldn’t want anyone to go through what i just went through with Porsche
Hi mate, I’ve tried this but to no avail, I’m getting gearbox fault warning and it’s skipping 2,4,6 gears. Any clues. Ta.
What if my Cayman S 718 has key less entry ? should I remove the key less too ? Please advise. Thanks...
Ive just tried it on my caymen gts 2018 didnt have a chance to fully test it but first impressions seems to have smoothed out 1s an 2nd gear but need a longer test…. Update to come (not keyless entry model)
Do you begin by leaving the door open for the first two procedures?

Worked like a charm on 2018 panamera hybrid with keyless. Thanks!!
Does the procedure also applicable to a tiptronic 997? If not, does it have such procedure to reset the adaptive values on the transmission?

Is there any feedback to know if it worked on the dash or anything? Can't tell if it's working for me
How do you know that pdk has been reset? Will dash give a message saying that pdk has been reset?
Had gear change lag, tried lots of these quick fixes, turns out it was a dodgy injector. If this reset doesnt work, get injectors checked. Panamera 3.0 diesel 2014
Ive also noticed my revs are a fraction higher when idling
Worked for my 991.2 GTS and a couple days later, the lag returned. 😢
Góis for 2002 Cayenne gts?
This is not the reset procedure. This is what you should do after reflash of DME and PDK control unit. And the engine should have a specified temperature.
Does it not clear the "learned" tendencies of the driver? I have heard people doing this on a Panamera and having noticeable better shifting points.
Nice ✌️👌
I have keyless go.. is turning the key to off position also good?
Wondering the same thing. Honestly this looks no different than just driving the car like normal.
