These are the days mama. We live 8 minutes from my parents and we always do Friday night dinners and I love making the house clean and cozy and smelling good before I start cooking
I love this real-life blog. And most importantly, seeing Christians that still go to Church.

this was so sweet watching everyone chip in to help tidy up and cut fruit and light a candle. And my daughter in law actually showed me how everything does not have to be perfect... I would put off inviting people over til everything was just right... but we would go shopping, she would meet 3 or 4 different people and say " come over this afternoon " . Nothing would match, she would pick up a few store bought goodies and make a big pot of chili or spaghetti and everyone had the best time. Good friends, laughter, a little food and wine , a fire pit. She knew the fun was in being together, not in being perfect.
That is so special, I am working on it but she is so right! ❤

Tell your boys that they were so helpful, hopefully they can look back and be inspired how to host a guest.
Sharing you home with others is such a gift to them and a teachable joyful moment for your boys.

Isn’t it amazing how us mama’s multi task, You handle everything with grace it is so nice to see you and the boys help each other out.
Perfect job for your son so eager to join in the preparations he climbed on the counter: putting the bread in a basket, placing cookies or cupcakes on a cake stand, arranging pre-cut cheese on a platter. Fulfill his enthusiasm and desire to help!

My twin boys are 36 years old this year. I had 4 children under then age of 5. My Daughter in Law's love me because my boys know how to clean and cook. This is a wonderful time for your boys to learn and the further of your family is being formed right before our eyes. The gift of hospitality needs to be taught and the praise may not come right away, but you will receive it when you least expect it. I really enjoy your channel. Looking forward to new paintings. I really liked seeing what real life is like for you and your family. The way you are teaching your children to be caring of others is precious! Your oldest son does quite a bit to help and he seemed to enjoy it and being the role model for your other two boys. You are teaching them life skills that not all children have today. They will thank you for this later in life! I commend you for staying so calm. Three boys can be a handful but you clearly have taught them well, and you don't get overwhelmed. I chuckled when your middle son said, "It's a pyramid" when you stacked the mini-muffins! I hope you enjoyed your time with your visitors and that they appreciated your hospitality.

Your mother, wrote a blog awhile back, about being a hostess and not fussing so everything is perfect. I'm trying to get there, but still clean the house and cook up a storm when company is coming. You are a marvel, Andrea. You have four boys, to include a new born. Your house is immaculate and you are ready to entertain first thing in the morning. I'm retired and my family are all grown up. I entertain for dinner or in the evening, when I've had all day to ready the house and prepare food. I'm going to have to try to do it your way.

Wanted to share, I actually ended up bawling and cancelling my very first family get together A FEW HOURS BEFORE it was supposed to happen. Yep. Because I let my perfectionism and procrastination kill me. It is so embarrassing to remember 😂 I was sobbing on the phone... My dear sweet mother in law was like, 'hey, let's just reschedule for tomorrow, and I'll help you.' Bless her ❣️ so see? I wish I had seen a vlog like this before for inspiration 😆 love you.

I've been blessed with 6, 5, 3 and 1 year old children (3 boys, one girl and one on the way) and I LOVE this style video! The interactions between you and the kids and the children with each other is definitely relatable and endearing.

i had 5 kids in 7 years and two more 5 years later. We hosted weekly formal Sabbath meals and the children grew up with a love of company. It is a wonderful learning opportunity for the kids as they learned to accept a very diverse crowd, including the homeless and Hollywood eccentrics in addition to neighbors, friends and family. My advise is keep it simple and know when to set boundaries. Family and Mommy's sanity always come first! You are doing a fantastic job.
Angela you sound like a generous, gracious person. Although I am not Jewish, my best childhood friend was/is. I used to love watching her mother cook and then getting invited to eat the wonderful food she prepared. Mazel tov.

I was so scared, when your oldest child was cutting the fruits, hopefully this wasn't his first time helping in the kitchen, so cute. You have a new look to your hair and glasses, is great! We haven't seen Isaiah up, he's always sleeping but is a good thing you use the baby carrier. Teaching the boys Hospitality, it gives them a good way of learning discipline good job!

I haven't even started watching yet, but am already so grateful for this video. We just had our former pastor and his wife over last night for dinner. We have 5 children (2 teenagers and the other 3 are 7, 5 and 3). After our guests left last night I was wondering how I could show hospitality better with having small children. When you mentioned the boys sitting in front of the electric fireplace, and the house being chilly I wish our weather was more cooler. I live in Tucson so it has been hot lately. Last night it was a tad cooler in the evening. So ready for cooler temps. WE do not see fall as much unless we go to the mountains. I like cooler weather. So ready for my winter clothes.

We have four boys too! We have an Ethan too, he's our youngest :) I always include our boys as much as there willing to help serve our guests and think of them as we prepare. So glad you're sharing this with moms, so they see that it can be done and done simply and beautifully too!!

I noticed you had your diffuser on the floor tucked in under a table. First, that is a great idea, and secondly, what is the diffuser you use? I have seen fancy light changing diffusers but would like one that is calming and not lit up.
