Thanks to those that kindly pointed out that the clicking noise the Bulldog SG makes is normal and will not break the blaster. My unbiased opinion is that it's still a very noisy and unpleasant sound.
That’s a totally valid opinion. The way a product “feels” is really important.

As the nerf modder, that sound is completely normal. You’ll be very surprised how durable nerf blasters are. Absolutely no reason to think it’s a problem
if Nerf and Halo collaborated during Halo 2/3,they would've sold incredibly well
BOOMco had the license for 5 and they sold pretty good

yea, i was really hoping the Mangler would just be a Mega Cycloneshock but with a cool Halo skin, bit disappointed it uses Elite darts
I use these for cosplay. They all should have been rival.

@@gangsterringostarr2840 the ma40 most of all should have been rival. Rival is the superior platform, and i wouldnt have minded a larger gun. The one that shoots darts is unrealistically small, it should be comparable to a longstrike in length. The halo reach assault rifle is about 38" long, and thats the most comparable scale model we have until infinite comes out.
I dont mind it this scale, but a small percentage in scale makes a big cubic difference. Rival would have enabled a larger, adult scaled blaster with more capability and a higher round capacity.
People are already calling the Banished, “the Covenant.” That’s how you know people haven’t played Halo 4, 5, and Wars 2.
I mean 4 and 5 didn’t even have the banished

Damnit, I thought the Manglers drum was gonna be massive, it’s so much wasted space to have those covers... I mean you don’t have to have them on but it’s just a worse strongarm...
We already have 9 round cylinders you can 3d print for hammershots, bringing them up from 5 darts. I'm 100% sure that someone is gonna do the same for the mangler.
Oh nvm just saw it. I'm gonna look into moving the indexing piece down and using the entire drum up. Definitely gonna take a while but it'd be an awesome mod.
@@ClaireDuhLune not only that, nerf made an 8 round cylinder before for the firefly. They could’ve also easily made a bigger drum

i think it's a habit for a lot of people, i still call the elites "covenant" sometimes but i shouldn't when i play infinite hahaha

Manual rotation of the drum is normal and it sounds like that in most nerf blaster. You should be fine
I don't know about that. I've had Nerf guns that mostly sat unused in my closet stop working.

I wish the Mangler had more capacity. It’s basically a Strong Arm, so it would be nice if it had one feature that made it unique.
I can't wait to see 3D print creators make a larger drum to hold more darts, or take MEGA Darts if you want to fire large red darts for the intimidation!

It should have been 8 dart Mega. That’s how it was in the game demo (well obviously not mega it was shotgun shells but you get the point
The reason why it looks bulkier or bigger is because spartans and elites are massive which makes the guns look smaller in the hands of an elite or a spartan and it looks much bigger and bulkier in the hands of a normal human that isn't massive.
Yeah Spartans are like 7ft tall
If you cut the certical grip off and just have a pump handle, it looks like the combat shotgun from doom
Most nerf revolvers have a slip clutch, it’s 2 pieces that fit together and have angled teeth that are pushed together by a spring, so even if the cylinder is seized the slip clutch, well slips and nothing breaks. The Mangler likely has a disconnect (the rotation mechanism only engages when the blaster is primed, so the cylinder can rotate freely) but the bulldog doesn’t so the rotation mechanism is always engaged. TLDR is that is just a slip clutch (if you open a nerf revolver you’ll see it) and nothing will be damaged.

The first gun clearly has a button to hold back to insert the drum mag and the first packaging of the gun had the other rifle shown on the back too?? Lmao
I really wish nerf would do doom slayers super shotgun, gears lancer, or gnashes, that would be amazing

The bulldog has a clutch for the drum rotation, hasbro has been putting clutches in their revolvers for a long time.
That huge top rail on the bulldog looks like it has multiple notches and multiple spots to put your attachment. Plus two side rails. Will definitely pick one up when it comes out.

You open up the covering on the manglet on its hinge, it allows for better reloading

I was worried about that click too. If you pump it and don’t push it forward all the way (almost but not all) it should rotate freely. I’m not sure why. Why isn’t it like that always?
how do you take the orange part out ( where the bullets are)
You will know when you really broke your blaster and I feel a click like that would be ok but still not good sounding
Does the Mangler cylinder rotate when you pull the trigger? If so that's how you reload.

The mangler apparently you could pull down on one side of the drum like a flap for easy reloading

Given the fact that the Mangler is a Brute-made weapon (a species known for being at least eight to nine feet tall), that's probably fairly accurately scaled. Exaggerated a tad, possibly, but the bulk is certainly what I'd expect of a Brute weapon.

Why manually rotate to load? Why not use the pump?
Normally after you pump it once it locks and you have to shoot before you can use it again to move the cylinder, si if you don't manually twist the cylinder you won't be able to have it completely full
mangler is going to be another nailbiter and its going to be sick but someone has to give a bigger compacity to the mangler

Both of the GUN Bulldog SG and Nerf Mangler may have the respective using compatibility varying the user choice. I see both of them are modern but Bulldog looks smart.

Have you never used a nerf blaster before? Drum blasters have been using a slip clutch so you can manually rotate the drum to load it for over a decade at this point, possibly even longer, I don't really feel like figuring out which blaster first started using it.
Well, that doesn't explain why smaller cylinders don't make that sound (only the sound of ar flap). I think it's cause bigger cylinders have more inertia so you need more friction to prevent the skipping of darts.
I find it quite funny that he calls the Banished the “Covenant”...
the white one looks like the ksg and the r -90.

The BATTLE RIFLE. NOT THE ASSAULT RIFLE. THE BATTLE RIFLE YOU KNOW THE GUN THAT ACTUALLY HAD AIM IN THE GOOD OLD DAYS COMPARE TO THE ASSAULT RIFLE WHICH IS JUST RAPID FIRE BEFORE THEY KINDER FIX IT.
THE BATTLE RIFLE HAS A REALLY COOL DESIGN JUST LIKE THE ASSAULT RIFLE. SO BE LOOKING FORWARD FOR A NERF VERSION

While I HIGHLY doubt Nerf would ever do this, I have always wanted Nerf weapons from Killzone. The Helghast StA-52 Assault Rifle, in particular. Also a Nerf Fallout series would be awesome, especially the Sniper Rifle from 3/New Vegas!
Warframe has the best sci fi guns especially with guns like the soma, there's also loads more guns to choose from.

It's a pretty loud click though. Mangler sounds much smoother.

Does anyone else think that the Mangler was a missed opportunity to be a Nerf Mega Blaster? I mean, just look at it, it's big for a revolver and the ammunition it shoots is also big.
The bulldog had more resistance because you turned it the wrong way. Your supposed to turn it the way it reloads in
they actually finished the fight 5 times, one time wasn't chief's doing, but still
I like to think that the reason it looks bulkier than it does in-game is because Master cheif is massive in comparison to your average adult male. But that's just my two-cents.

It’s funny how people didn’t like the halo 4-5 shotguns and how a majority wanted the original halo 2-3 shotgun but 343 was just like nope

The Bulldog doesn’t look like a weapon that belongs in Halo. It least the Mangler tries to accomplish the Brute aesthetic.
The rail on the Bulldog is painful to look at, and it's a colossally wasted opportunity.
