Mods I'd like to see on this blaster: 1. Lipo upgrade, and move said upgrade into the fore-grip, freeing space in the shell 2. Afterburner toward the front of the barrel, effectively shortening the barrel length to about 6 inches. 3. Make the Ammo counter real, using the nerf hardware as a base. 4. Select fire kit. 5. Obviously an upgrade to the existing cage, wheels and motors. Thanks for the review Drac! Keep up the awesome work, love the armor btw.
Best part is there are no clips or solvent welding. So feel free to unscrew it open and slap an afterburner into the front alongside all the other wonderful Drac love touch of modifications!
The reason for that Amazon packaging is because in general they’re cutting costs on shipping. If they can simply slap a shipping label on the product’s original packaging and ship that, they will.

i mean if he did he would never talk about halo in the outfit. because none of the spartan ever needed to nor do they ever shoulder their weapons. their visors have integrated weapons aiming in them.
Interesting blaster. I have a friend that wants to use this to rebuild his MA40 that he had commissioned for Endwar. Beautiful integration of the Boomco MA40 and a Rayven, but it broke. So it's nothing more than a paperweight and cosplay prop now.

The riser is so you can fit a standard Nerf scope on it, otherwise the rail would be entirely pointless and the counter could just be part of the shell.
2:15 I just thought of a good reason why Hasbro did that. I think they wanted a rail on top for your other scopes. But your other scopes need to sit higher. But they also wanted this rifle's scope as an attachment for your other blasters. So the best way to do all that is to have the raising rail attachment.
I've been waiting for this for ages. i think twilight's would be fun to have in it. maybe there's a cage in the future? The MA40 is based on the halo reach variant where the ammo counter was noticeably not connected the rest of the upper, so that's why they could get away with making it an attachment. hope that makes sense :D

The raised rail is for other scopes. I've looked at pictures, and it doesn't seem like it''ll need it to be accurate. Otherwise they might've made the ammo counter into the mold anyway

In halo lore that ammo counter is a rail attachment on all the ARs and that is where it is attached on the MA37 (which is practically the same) the riser is for sights, as different optics could be mounted and would need to clear the “fin” like top of the AR.

When the platform moved to the MA5 line, most notable rifles being the MA5B (Halo CE), the MA5C (Halo 3), and the MA5D (Halo 4&5), the classic ammo counter was replaced with the new Integrated Combat Scope, or ICS, which included: an ammo tracker; a compass; a rangefinder; and an integrated barrel cam w/sight picture. In game there was no way to switch between the two screen modes, so in Halo 5 343 added hologram sights as well as mounted sights. I personally wish they'd followed the written lore, but hey, it's not my game to make.
I thought this thing was gonna be total crap but it’s actually not. As most others have said before, the afterburner potential is totally there 👀 I’m hoping to see the ODST smg and magnum at some point. Though I can only dream. But the sniper rifle absolutely MUST come eventually in this line
It looks like there is more than enough room inside to fit an after burner at the very end, and a big chunky lipo too, maybe a custom select fire kit, via a motorized linear actuator with the board and stuff above/in front of the trigger?
The ammo counter was an attachment, because the MA-40 in lore is the successor to the MA-37, which was a more streamline and standard issue comes with the ammo counter. The newer, MA5 series had the ammo counters built in.
I think the rail riser is for red dot sights, and i think the two modulus red dot variants might work. But the green might be a bit bright, but the other has none.

Great video Drac! A cool idea would be to put another flywheel cage further down the barrel as an afterburner and convert the Ammo counter to an actual one. I don't know if you could fit a solenoid in the back but if so you could make the selector switch actually work. Keep up the good work!
The rail riser would be used for scopes and such as were expecting infinite to allow you to add them to change the overall use of the gun. They’ve been adding scopes to the assault rifle in halo 5
The riser is for those that want to add other scopes to the gun that otherwise wouldn’t clear the top slant. The ammo counter isn’t built in because they wanted you to be able to create your own “real” ammo counter to easily replace the fake one if you wanted to...
I wish a manufacturer would make a realistic looking Halo rifle BB Gun. There’s tons of great pellet and ABB guns in both bullpup form as well as those that resemble real M4s and M16s. I absolutely love my Crosman and Sig Sauer BB/Pellet rifles!
a little bit off-topic and politically nerdy, but do you think that it's possible that someone (Hasbro, several companies collectively, or even the government) decided to force nerf to make their blasters a little bit of less quality since they don't want a monopoly? Before the dart zone pro, nerf was about the only company that the majority of people bought blasters from, and so they held a lot of the market. now that the more recent nerf blasters are kinda crap and the competitions new blasters are really good, it's given the other companies more buyers and thus, more of a market. I guess that this gives nerf more competition, meaning that they need to up their blaster quality in order for buyers to get their new products. a win-win I guess
I'm gonna get one of those, paint it just like the MA5B with an orange barrel, give it some Krakens and a Lipo, and then have a lot of fun in my power armor.

One thing that I should mention about this MA40 The 6 round mags have a 50/50 chance of getting stuck when put in the mag well. I tested this when I first got it, and had to take it apart to get it out. I recommend not using 6 round mags

HONM has already established you can fit 7 afterburners in it, so I'll be happy to see you do that with a backpack lipo.

Mine came packed in a box from Amazon so box was mint. Needs a major overhaul, can’t wait to see the mode guide.

The riser seems its for other scope compatibility. I think we should applaud them for including it. Modulus scopes might look good on it.
The rail riser is for other scopes and attachments that don't fit on top of the rail. Also, that blaster fires really nice.
Well in the breakdown of the MA40, the Ammo counter is actually an attachment and could have optics and stuff mounted.
I love bullpups so much, and this confirmed that I need this now.

It is pretty small if you're trying to cosplay as a spartan but doing an ODST or marine cosplay, its perfect
