Der Fluss Blanda wird von einem Staudamm gespeist und ist nur wenige Wochen, bei Überlaufen des Sees, befahrbar.
Wir hatten Glück, denn es bot sich dank der Gletscherschmelze ein idealer Pegel für die Packraft Erstbefahrung dieses anspruchsvollen Abschnitts, besonders der Slides direkt hinter des Überlaufes. Der Blanda ist abgelegen, das Wasser eiskalt und die Steine extrem spitz! Auch wenn dieser Paddeltag kein Happy Ende für uns bereithielt, ein unglaubliches Erlebnis und atemberaubender Natur.
The River Blanda is fed by a dam and is only navigable for a few weeks when the lake is overflowing.
We were lucky because, thanks to the glacier melting, the water level was ideal for the Packraft first ascent of this challenging section, especially the slides directly behind the overflow. The Blanda is remote, the water is ice cold and the rocks are extremely sharp! Even though this paddling day didn't have a happy ending for us, it was an incredible experience and breathtaking nature.
