      We sold this house last year, but the floor held up so, so well in our Wisconsin basement with 5 kids and a dog. 😜 We had it for 4 years and we were rough on it. Plus, the wall leaked with rain water many times and it was still almost perfect. Good luck with your project!

    A stencil adhesive will really help with the bleeding.

  • @spross1000
    @spross1000 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Looks amazing. Questions: How long did you wait between primer and each base coat? Was using charcoal as your base coat easier than if you used white, especially for touch ups?
    There are primers that are better for adhesion between substrate and paint ... would you recommend this now in hind sight? And lastly.....how is it holding up? Thank you!

    • @mindihoffman5556
      @mindihoffman5556  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sharyn! I waited 24 hours after applying the primer before doing the first base coat. Only because I was doing this project at night when my kids were sleeping. Between each base coat I waited maybe 45 minutes. This chalk paint dries very fast on a concrete floor!

    • @mindihoffman5556
      @mindihoffman5556  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say that charcoal was a more forgiving color to work with than a white would be. But I plan on stenciling my bathroom tile soon using white as the base. So I’ll know for sure then.

    • @mindihoffman5556
      @mindihoffman5556  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The primer that I used worked great and I will use the same supplies in the future. The floor is holding up amazing. It’s a high traffic area, we walk through daily with our wet snow boots. In the fall, this room flooded and the floor was not effected at all. I hope that helps! 💕
