This dude needs to get more attention over here. I absolute love the the concept of facing the audience while drawing, and even more so with a pitch black background and fluorescent markers. Videos are short and delivered with all the cherries you need to grasp the concepts for the various subjects. And then a very short and humble "please like and subscribe" at the very end. Which I definitely have done. Thanks man.

This really helped. I was trying to understand the workings of a wye-delta motor starter. It's a circuit configuration that starts up the motor on a wye starter, then shifts to a delta starter so as to buffer the starting surge of current onto the motor. All I knew was that a wye-delta starter reduces the initial surge of power by a factor of 3 as compared to the simple Direct On Line starter, which helps the lifespan of the motor. You helped it all make sense.

Yes, get it Watts equal the VA because the Pf is 1 in a PURELY resistance circuit. Clear and concise.

DELTA line voltage of 208. When you drew the PHASE voltage of 208 I had to stop the video. Did not EXPECT that. Thinking to myself.
Need to go over this again. thank you
Second replay. GOT IT NOW. No neutral on the Delta, therefore line
and phase VOLTAGE is the same.

Such an amazing video and explanation. I really enjoyed it

nice video, i gave it a thumbs up. most transformers i test are connected delta to wye. if you had switched them around for the video, it would have been more relatable.

Great Idea! Thanks! I have a whole bunch of transformer connection videos for 3-phase coming out soon.

3x bigger is 200% increase. To get the same power you must triple the resistance. The Wye is simple to understand in the way that the center point is neutral so it is similar to three resistors in parallel on a 120 V single phase so it is 3 * 12 A * 120 V = 4320 W.

Can you please tell me how to calculate, the fuses in the primary for a transformer 600 volts, 3 phases, 75 KVA? Primary Delta and secondary Why.
    Thanks.

    Why Wye

Indeed. I have the same question
