Factorio should implement in the factoriopedia all recycling recipes. This is important information that we either need to test or research online to know
yes, because why do bluesticks selfrecycle but capacitors do not. uranium fuel cells also do not recycle to components, but should based on their 'ruleset'
(and why no quality on kovarex.... I don't mind sifting through catalyst/product. There already is code to make productivity only apply to the product and not the catalyst. The same rule could apply to quality)
The recycling recipes are actually not hardcoded. They are calculated every time. This is why they do not appear in the factoriopedia.
@@sebastiangrau8409 if they can be generated for recycler, they can be generated for factoriopedia. But I don't believe they are. There's no pattern.
in case anyone’s wondering, there is a mod for this
Next up: legendary substation grid
i was gonna say epic but yea :D
I did for my factory and totally satisfied.
I’m actually surprised that hasn’t happened yet! He has basically unlimited of all of the ingredients for them.
I think it was last episode that he said he wasn't going to do this.
I made a circuit when I first landed on fulgora that measures everything on the logistics network, and when it exceeds 40 stacks, feeds it in the recycler row with quality. Not only did this keep my spare items in check, but it helped my supply of higher quality items.
No please don't tell me they are going to put me on a conveyor belt and throw me in the lava I'm going to have nightmares forever after this
Don't be ridiculous. Much more efficient to just contaminate the air with something highly aggressive against all biomatter.
There's no lava. There's cake at the end of the conveyor belt.
Yes yes, plenty of cake.
And candles!
>makes one legendary nuke
>does not use it
whyyyy nilaus whyyyy
Its obviously for the legendary big demolisher episode
Clearly it's just there as a deterrent.
thats for a special occassion
@@SCX2k sadly you cant ship nukes to other planets
@schnitzelhannes6431 legendary ship when
With the new circuit improvements it's very easy to prevent it from inserting more than 40x 235 into the centrifuge.
And it's also possible to turn logistic chests on or off based on how many items are in them instead of doing the logic on the inserters.
you can make fuel rods, burn it in reactor, recycle burned rods in centrifuge, no recycler needed. Just make lot of reactors :)
I have gotten the legendary U-235 significantly cheaper (used just a few hundred common U-235). The way how you can do it is keep recycling common U-235 to kickstart uncommon Kovarex. That should be about 200 common U-235. Then you breed uncommon U-238 and keep recycling until you have 40 rare U-235, etc. Each of the stages only uses a couple hundred U-235 to create the 40 needed for the next quality.
This is what I’m doing. You could also upcycle fuel cells as thats the product you want anyway.
1 regular personal fusion reactor has better power output than 1 legendary personal fission reactor. (1.88MW vs 2.5 MW). 1.88MW is insane anyways for anything other than Aquilo.
Perfect for a really good construction spidertron
The Fission is an ingredient for the Fusion, so I am keeping them equipped until upgrading
Exactly, why not get more lasers!
Hi Nilaus,
now that you mentioned the biter eggs: What would happen if you "colonize" biters on the other planets. Will they fight for example the Gleba fauna or the demolishers? Will they build nests and grow?
lol never thought of this:)))))))) if you move both bitters and spitters will they grow on other planets? that would be so cool (and vice versa for pentapods)
Finally we can get the "Nuclear Disarmament" achievement from MGS5 on PC... Im a different game.
I'm really loving these quality videos! These ideas would have never crossed my mind, I'm really excited to get to the point I can explore the possibilities!
I have been spending so much time with new Combinator stuff that I've fallen behind on progression in the game. The possibilities of the new Combinators + recycling + quality has my head spinning lol
I mean recycling Nukes is one of the best ideas no matter what planet you're on! Great series, thanks!
sub-stations grid is very nice. it is better than bringing power poles to other planets.
build constraining yes, but it's a fun challenge.
connect a roboport to decider comparator set to stack size, multiply that by the amount of stacks you want to keep from each item, compare that value with the whole logistics storage content, and make recyclers with requester chests to purge whatever excess you have, you could grind for quality too. My Fulgora keeps 46 stacks of each scrap derived item at all times.
You can split off the 238 and upcycle them by crafting uranium bullets and then just do legendary kovarex. Also I don't quality mine my ores. I speed mod my ores, then using beaconed processes to craft 240 uranium ammo/s when I then upcycle using quality modded recyclers+crafting machines. Kinda similar to how you did the circuit upcycling.
this was how I fed my 238, using ammo to craft/recycle gives you better odds.
I love this series to be honest I have watched everyone. Keep up the great work. What do you think you’ll play after you beat Space Age?
The same but bigger numbers
For Factory Sake: SHOOT THE NUKE!!!
You’re a mad man! Love the videos
If you're doing this for yourself, start with a smaller bot-based build for upcycling nukes. You only need a couple lucky procs to legendary to get enough u235 to kickstart legendary kovarex.
I didn't realize till just now legendary kovarex makes legendary u235 way easier than u238 lol
"Lets not accidentaly shoot a nuke on our feet" 🤣
Have you done the math for doing Kovarex going first for Uncommon, then for rare and epic? That should also be pretty viable...
Once you have 40 uncommon, a Kovarex with uncommons should produce them at a pretty fast rate, and those can be upcycled further.
Robot Genocide is generally considered to be impolite in several notable social circles
Isnt it more worth to process all uranium ore instead of upcycling it, for more stages of chances of quality?
Legendary recyclers, surely! :P
The recyclers for the uranium ore are rare quality themselves. Could be better if they were legendary.
Feels like getting rid of all the Battle Droids after Order 66
Should have sent Nostromo to pick up the eggs.
Lol all the legendary stack inserters doing 1 insert every 10 seconds. They're a bit overqualified for the job
what about doing kovarex enrichment with quality modules? as the uranium is run through it repeatedly, it should result in quite a lot more quality uranium than recycling it. also it's throughput on uranium is very high, maybe even higher than recycling (40 -> 41)
You can't use quality modules with koravex =(
I kind of wondered too, Maybe for space efficiency? That recipe is quite slow, so maybe it would require too many buildings and too much space? I haven't done the math, but I do think it would be more resource efficient since there wouldn't be any recycler loss.
it doesnt work obviously but it would be funny if it did because it would output 82 uranium from 40
@@incription they could use the same restriction as they do for productivity. (with kovarex, productivity only applies to the product, not the 40 that is used as catalyst)
The uranium upcycler spaghetti is too complicated to follow. I *think* the problem is everything is left-right flipped. Net motion is right-to-left, but the recyclers are left-to-right so the bottoms of the loops are (mentally) overloaded. Maybe the bottom-most conveyer should be a quality-sushi loop and the upcycler loops pick from and drop onto it. (Like the deuterium fractionation loops in DSP.)
So atomic bombs is the way to go about it, who could have guessed
Couldn't you use the Kovarex process with quality to roll for higher quality outputs each loop?
I used the Tolbet to farm legendary carbon fiber
I use the toilet to farm legendary spoilage by recycling Taco Bell 🔔
I used the Toiletpaper to farm legendary paper
the mistake you made IMO is not processing all the ore first. You are effectively throwing away a huge portion of your quality gambles. Once you are processed into 235/238 you can safely recycle gamble things as you see fit.
Personally I keep some of all levels of uranium and only recycle what overflows a priority splitter before the buffer chest so I can also quality gamble when making spawners and labs. making legendary anything gleba is a massive drain on the farms so being able to gamble with U/R/E was a fair bit faster.
Biter eggs come out 5x per cycle from legendary spawners so its a worthwhile investment toward mass production of productivity modules and promethium sci.
Tôi không xây dựng quy mô lớn như anh. Nhưng cách anh làm giúp tôi biết cách sắp xếp gọn gàng căn cứ của mình😍
Does each individual robot have its own ai or the entire logistics network is a singular ai and the robots are its hardware?. Existential factorio questions.
I think the robots control the actual pathfinding and the roboports have a singular ai that controls how many robots go
There is an overseer ai but the robots have rudimentary ai for efficiency
Their AI is probably not really an AI, more like a static algorithm, just like in the game
Individual bots are actually pretty stupid. They're large enough to house their own computing hardware but clearly they don't. Those are the limitations of the game engine. You can't simulate hundreds or thousands of tiny computers making complex decisions without tanking the UPS.
Gleba Gleba Gleba Gleba Gleba Gleba
How does quality kovarex work? Could 40 Normal U235 become 41 Uncommon U235? Or does it use the catalyst rule and only make 1 Uncommon U235?
Can't use quality on Kovarex. Unfortunate, but that would be completely broken.
Still no PRODUCTIVITY in roboframes I am heartbroken :(
personal grid is somewhat strange in space age. what is the point after 200 bots support and like 7 exoskeletons. even legendary ones. I guess you can expand inventory... but all that fighting stuff ist better placed into a ganksquad of spiderbros. I'll have to cunsult mods about some more options....
are you going to use the better fusion reactors?
your description still says
"Steam Release 21st of October (Media embargo lifts on 14th of October):"
not sure if there is a reason it's still there or not, but thought I would comment incase you notice
How do you set just icon of Science pack? I can do only alarm and it's triggers me :(
Using alarms, you set the name of the alarm only the icon of the sciene you want. so only the name will appear and remove the sound or any words. Hope this helps
bitters can exist on gleba?
send few there?
i wanna see who is better
I keep trying to zoom in and out. Not working super great
29:41 , why recycling the U235 directly into legendary U235 is not the best way (like you did the Uranium ore) ?
why an intermediate product "nuke" is required and then it is recycled ? (as there is no fluid involved like in the case of making a plastic from coal)
Because you can have quality modules in both the assembler making the new item and the recycler recovering the initial item, meaning twice the chances for quality increase. Just recycling an item till you get legendary is super inefficient.
@@submachinegun5737 Yup, exactly. The more quality you can put into an upcycle loop, the better.
Would it take too long to roll the same batch through kovarex process? When the kovarex process rolls up with quality, it converts the whole batch into better quality I believe. You do need to replace missing quality 238, but it won't be a problem with your build, right?
Korvarex does not accept quality modules unfortunately. Most looping recipes do not. Asteroid reprocessing seems to be a notable exception.
It fascinates me how much misinformation is going around with this game. What can and can't be recycled, and what they recycle into. What modules can be used with which recipes. And people create or repeat this misinformation without ever testing it themselves.
wtf... that's smart.
Here i was trying to get one by the normal means ... gambleing on it....
Does legendary light exist? i want to see it
it destroys your screen
\*Radiance theme starts playing*
Shouldn't you route a little bit of normal Uranium ore back to that normal processing plant so your nukes don't starve? Or do you have more than 1000 hours of fuel cells saved like me? :)
Why are we using fission not fusion?
Because legendary everything
@Forke13 ah, do you need the fission for the fusion?
@@cheetahrunoutyes, but only for the portable fusion reactor, it requires a portable fission reactor which requires uranium
@@nathanjohnson3948 ah yes, I thought, why is he using those crappy reactors.
a mod that adds a metal pyramid, the enginer lies there dead, it also adds a AI Center which is a huge building that you place and from them on you can only use the map mode and you are playing as the AI.
Why you call uranium yellow? 😅
how are you going to get an achievement with mods?..
steam achievements are the ones disabled using mods, but the savefile itself has separate achievement tracking. He will get the achievements in this run. but not on his steam account (unless you disable the mods and load the world again, then steam will not know the difference ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
@@ahmedplat12 aaah. gotcha. thanks ^^
You can make a diamond pattern with the big drills, one going behind a blue underground belt with 2 going into the sides, you need to place 2 common medium power poles or higher quality ones to connect power though. It's a little bit denser than just a line with a belt, and looks much cooler.
Why isn't he using portable fusion reactors for his armor?
The fission reactors are a component of the fusion reactors. I would imagine he'll upgrade them in a future video.
The cake is a lie.
So why does he mass destroy bots?
He's replacing them all with legendary bots. He doesn't want normal bots in the network anymore. It's arguable you could recycle them and try to use the components. But since he is going for a pure legendary factory, dealing with all those components adds extra complexity. So just like in Portal, the bots get sent to eat cake. “The Enrichment Center is required to remind you that you will be baked, and then there will be cake.”
@OniNaito thank you
disapoitned there is no portable fusion reactor
there is.
Nuclear weapon upcycler? Nilaus sounds like Putin lol
what happens to biter eggs when they expire on a space ship?
They will born and attack you
You better hope you have turrets in range
Hilarity
I sent some up to my space science platform as an experiment. I thought surely biters can’t just live in space. I was so wrong about that. They all hatched all at once. I had no defenses. It was quite a conundrum, but they didn’t seem to agro anything and eventually despawned.
@@sebastiangrau8409 Really? They just walk around up there aimlessly and eventually despawn?
why fission though.. fusion is the way to go there
U need fission before fusion that a ingredients lol
Portable fission reactors are an ingredient in portable fusion reactors. Need the legendary version of the first to get a legendary version of the second.
@ true, still it's a lot more power for those
You gotta use the bug where you can walk around on your space platform and shoot the legendary nuke at the solid wall of asteroids leading to the shattered planet.
You should try the Legendary Nuke on the Biggest Demolisher there is.
isnt possible as you cant ship it to other planets
you can ship the mats to another planet or craft it in orbit
Гринд без конца.
У фактории появились новые цели, но сама игра осталась
плоской.
This walking so fast is not nice to look at, i cant imagine it is nice to play with, you do 1 step aside and you are so far aside. Maybe remove one or 2 legendary legs
It’s super nice to play with since you can just toggle legs with alt+e if you need more precise movement
I disagree, it's both nice to look at and nice to play with. Going back to a new save without legs or flying armor feels even more crap now than it always did.
@@aftbit i fully agree that a mech armor is great, and legs are great, the many many legendary legs that make him run quicker as a train, is too much
It is just my personal opinion. I don't see any point in making everything legendary except making it an additional optional endgame goal. I started playing factorio a month ago, after dlc released and i think this whole quality bullshit is not a good part of the game as it unnecessarily overcomplicates simple yet effective game progression. In my opinion it would be better to keep only different tiers of structures unlocked on other planets like Electromagnetic plant, Cryogenic plant, Biochamber, Foundry, Big drill, better inserters, belts etc. Just make a new research that increases speed, efficiency and productiveness of those machines as well as new modules. I also feel that the game becomes boring and pointless after finishing vulcanus and gleba, as there just isn't anything worth grinding for on other planets and in the endgame. Biters and other aliens are too easy to deal with as the difficulty doesn't scale well with player's progression. I will need to wait for some interesting mods for 2.0 because after 150 hours there is nothing worth grinding for and there aren't many interesting mechanics to explore and learn. I am kind of disapointed in how the endgame looks right now in Factorio. It is time to try Satisfactory or sth i guess ;d
I actually really like the quality endgame. It gives you a reason to create 2000x as many resources. Otherwise, I would have been done with the game 100 hours ago :)
@@aftbit Yes it elongates the playtime significantly, but for a pointless upgrade that you don't really need. And it is necessary to make 2000x as many resources just because you need it for making faster factory that does the same thing. It is kinda vicious circle. Also the vulcanus infinite resources from 1 lava pool is kinda stupid as you don't have to expand your base at all and can create infinite resources for free. This planet needs some hard nerfs like not infinite lava pools and demolishers that expand their territory or create some larvas to claim what was lost. But i am glad you are having fun. For me the game lacks good endgame and increase in difficulty over time
@@falcongaming1656 You only started a month ago? Welcome to the Factorio community! Hopefully you enjoyed the 150 hours you played!
From my perspective, Factorio's endgame has really only ever been about two things. Megabases and overhaul mods. You either make more stuff faster, or you increase the complexity of the game. Some players even do both! From a game development studio perspective, it's important to consider the core audience. Not necessarily the 1000h types, but the 30-40h types that will have a good time, leave a good review, and tell their friends. I feel that both the base game and the expansion give exceptional experiences for that core audience. Where Wube goes above and beyond is their mod support. Wube devs work with mod devs to reduce barriers and provide a robust framework. They even hired popular mod devs to further bridge that gap.
Space Age isn't perfect, and your critiques are definitely a valid point of view. Personally, I think the expansion could have benefited from an early access period where they tweaked the mechanics and balance. The last few months of development seemed rushed and they made a lot of last minute decisions and compromises. Now that the game is public as a final release, they can't really alter core mechanics or balance without disrupting the aforementioned core audience. Altogether though, I really enjoyed the expansion and I expect to get another thousand hours out of mods and megabases.
