Thanks for sharing your thoughts. From my personal business / entrepreneur perspective, the market is the boss. The market dictates what it will and will not respond to. If Korg is your target market and they say "no," that is the answer. Quoting Chris Voss: "Collect the no's!" No's tell you more than yes. No's are more valuable than yes. The no signals your approach may be missing the mark. How can you get a "Hell yes!" from Korg? Complaining about something only describes the present moment. What are you going to do differently to get a different response?
@@RaymondHuffman-hb3ht thanks Raymond! Do you use it mostly on iPad or macOS? Do you do your full producing in gadget or export to something else like Ableton ?
I have to say- this does come off as kind of entitled. Gadget 3 is still an incredible music making tool. One of the best. “Incredibly disappointed “ and “ Lost credibility “ are pretty strong words for what the reasoning was behind them. To each their own but I still think Gadget is a massive deal for what is offered and how inspiring it is. Don’t mind just paying for a gadget then putting a vid up showcasing the capabilities. Thanks for your other vids tho!
Yeah that would rub me the wrong way too. Korg gadget was the first app i got on iOS years ago. I love gadget but I’m looking to move on to mobile production hardware.
The title suggested a major flaw with the app. This isn’t the case, it’s just sour grapes. Personally I would take the video down as it is more damaging to you than Korg.
Might be a good idea. My sentiments aren’t the same and indeed I was just in my feelings lol. It’s okay though. This whole content thing is a journey! Are you a gadget user on iPad??
@@Khordmaster was about to pull the trigger on the ipad app. I had the Korg Ds 10 app on the nintendo and loved it. Recently bought the Yamaha seqtrack but couldn’t get on with it.
I don't see how KORG lost any credibility.. after this video though, you may have.. this just feels like an entitled whining for free stuff cringe tantrum..
Love the rawness of this video man and hearing your honest opinions on things, the sample packs are a great idea too! Would def cop a vocal sample pack, I feel like they’re really hard to come across these days, especially finding them in various pitches laid out
I personally would need more context to understand how your situation and the response from Korg compares with other content creators in a similar position. It's really hard to know what this means without a bigger picture involved, which you probably have. I've gotten some codes from developers but usually when they offered them after I reached out rather than requesting, but that's because my reach is very small. I actually sent an email to Korg sales, just letting them know I did a vid, just to see if anything happens - I expect nothing, but if they replied and said "thanks for your video" that would be great. Again, like I said, I'm not deep into this area, but it would be interesting to know if *anyone* out there has gotten some promotional stuff from Korg in relation to Gadget recently.
well said. to be quite honest, this video was more of a venting thing and less of a "korg is wrong for not providing me codes" in hindsight. I took a little break from using gadget 3 because I was in my feelings a bit (lol) but now back to using it because it indeed is my favorite DAW to use period. thanks for the comment, man
Yep, did yall notice how Gadget 3 changed, I seem to prefer the way Gadget 2 functions for the most part. It’s quicker process. Could we have a legacy mode maybe
For example when on the new fx page shifts/loads to new fx screen away from full mixer and arranger area, the instrument thumbnail above the mixer on the right is . . . Just that, got to press on the smaller button on left to get back to instrument. . . Even the Gadget selection page seems more complicated, I like new features but not at the cost of the the original flow, unless of course it is better flow, in comparison gadget 2 is quicker to navigate IMO. Recent projects saved on icloud are no longer at the the very top, it’s splitt into two sections now internal and then iCloud after scrolling the internal list. No more gadgetcloud. . .
i dont think you should using the app publically if you are making good content with it. I think not showing the app if it is one of your favs is the opposite of authentic. sounds like you want to punish korg for not collaborating. But i get it, this is a business. so do whatever is going to make you the most money.
I cannot stop thinking how out of pocket this was. They don’t owe you or any of us anything. I also suggest that you study Japanese business culture. You are complaining about a $40 app that pushes boundaries. Then you start talking about a $2,000 keyboard. Damn man this was hard to watch
it WAS out of pocket in hindsight ... it's how I felt at the time... don't feel that way anymore. it's all a journey. thanks for your comment thought man!
Nah man. You are totally on point with this. I’ve been talking to people all over Korg USA, about problems with userids, missing offers, bad locking codes, and I was asking for a merely 20% off Gadget 3, as even RJ Reynolds (camel smokes) will break off with a 20% coupon. They got pretty creative in ways to tell me to fuck off. Will fwd u the email responses. They really don’t give a shit about good press, product reviews, or our subscribers at all- let alone want to help you. I asked them to forward me to the Sales Team(s), account execs. I have all 40 of the iOS gadgets and add one’s and a ton of korg hardware, and I was told once that there is no “cross promotion” between iOS korg and korg USA. In short- fuck them. I’ll still rock gadget tho, because the korg fx (delay) and presets are sick af. Stay blessed brother
