  • Wuddup wudduppppp! So Korg Gadget 2 is my favorite iOS music making app. It is so intuitive and the vertical workflow just works perfectly for me. The sounds are great, and it's extremely stable and makes it easy to get ideas down quick!
    Korg just released a new update to Gadget 2 (and their Korg Module app which I will be making a vide on very soon) so I figured it was a good time for me to do an overview video highlighting my workflow and share some of the new features.
    Hope you enjoy!

    I bought this app a long time ago, being a Korg keyboard fan, but as an old timer I was overwhelmed with the complexities here. Your short video has opened my mind and allowed me to actually use this. Great job Kevin!!

    Excellent review. I also love Korg Gadget because you can put ideas really quickly. My only complain is that the audio export is still 16bit 44.1... I mean they could improve that. Another thing is that you can’t playback from the middle of the loop when you want to do some testing, so you need to start again from the beginning. But in my experience, I can compose melodies and grooves on the fly :)

    • @Khordmaster
      @Khordmaster  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      All good points. I didn't realize they only exported in that format! For me some sequencing tweaks such as live launcher like in Ableton would be amazing!

    • @PabloDeModeOfficial
      @PabloDeModeOfficial 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Khordmaster That’s right. Also, you can’t import midi clips as you do within ableton :( I try to work with different sources within a composition rather than using just only one device. On the other hand, the sounds in there are pretty solid and you can combine pretty much anything without having big issues as phase cancellation and stuff like that (off course, you can use more advanced features for that or export the project as an ableton file to work on it further).

    Korg gadget 2 is the app that really got me into producing music. I was really intimidated by other DAWs and programs at first but this app really made sense to me. I havent used Gadget in the past month or two but I love returning to it.

    The thing I love about gadget is that it is perfect to sketch down some ideas but it can also get quite deep... actually you can arrange a full song with some basic knowledge and little effort.
    And: if you want the final touch, you can transfer the project in ableton. And: the quality of the gadgets is generally very good.
    Underrated, it's a pity that Korg didn't update the app in a long time... did they stop to believe in the project?

    Gadget rocks . The naysayers despise it for the lamest reasons! It’s so work flow driven and intuitive it’s ridiculous! And the gadgets are amazing! This and an iPad is an excellent alternative to a laptop or standalone workstations ! For my money it kicks ass on all of them . Also Taipei midi device for control of synths etc is incredible. Also effects, and audio recording is supported. It opens in Logic and garage band as well as a plug in folder as well. I will always use this software. Ignoring something this complete and useful is stupid and ignorant. 👽

      @@Khordmaster I am not a fan of AUM I really wish Apple would give us an iOS version of Logic Pro on the iPad Pro . Then everything is available within a real pro daw and is supported because Logic is a standard and vendors recognize the importance of supporting it as much as possible. I love kymaticas AudioShare and the soon to be defunct ( it seems really a shame ) audio bus but the iOS mixer / quote DAW that looks like sliders with pop up nodes everywhere and a porthole to view waves doesn’t get it for me . I want pro apps on my m1 silicon iPad Pro like yesterday. sadly so far Apple think people who use touch devices and not laptop boat anchors aren’t serious artists.I think they need a shrink and a smaller bank account. Lol! And gadget/ Korg are usually keeping pace with Apple and there updates ….some food for thought ! Keep gadget alive and let Korg know it’s very important to those in the know! 👽✌️
