I used to take seeing 727s for granted as they were typical to see regularly... Now I'd LOVE to see them again!

The Boeing 737-200's will always be my favorite airliner. Those Pratt & Whitney JT8D's gave the plane the hot rod look. Sleek. Even with the thrust reversers. Like the fine lines of cars from the 1950's...them 200's were very sexy. I don't feel the same with the new versions now with the CFM56-7 turbofans.

I love how the Southwest 737 deployed his reverse thrust (at the 4:00 mark) in order to slow down on the high-speed taxiway. Never saw that done while taxiing before. Very cool. This does bring back memories - I was 19 when this was shot

    I LOVE those old 727 s !!!!

Love that the Canadian 737-200 doesnt use reverse on roll out...I also find it funny that the typical Southwest Airlines hot rod taxiing results in the pilots having to use the buckets to slow down!! The last Delta 727 landing shot is cool with that agitating green nav light on the wingtip!!

1:25 Boeing 727 and 737-200 in the same shot....that is glorious. Love the JT8D's.

I used to live in Vegas back in the seventies, eighties. Tropicana Avenue was an excellent place to see planes coming in for a landing and taking off.

I`ve never seen such a perfect landing like the Delta 727 did in the end.

This takes me back. All of these aircraft were a dime a dozen. I miss those days of hearing JT8 engines at airports.
It sure as hell beats the crap out of the tin can eco garbage we have today. What a yawnfest.

This is truly one of the best vids, I've seen in awhile, it gives me gose bumps I'm only 18 but I remeber so much of these aircraft and airlines, it's eerie because those 757s were almost brand new at the time and now, more and more they are becoming 727s and the 732 is almost impossible to see the NG is the new 200, and the airlines and schemes that have changed the bowling shoe on the NW 75 and the Delta widget, and Canadian being gone. Thank you so much for sharing this aviation history

Long gone are these days of really GREAT airlines & classic airliners; very sad!

  • @AmericaWest90
    @AmericaWest90 11 ปีที่แล้ว +2

This is so sad because back in the early 2000's when the industry was still almost exactly like this America West, NWA and Canadian were still around. I was only six when I moved away from Vegas but seeing all of this is saddening. America West was my favorite airline and US Airways killed them. I'm 15 now but I still remember pretty damn well that this was the golden age. The airline industry is screwed now.

Thank You so much for uploading these video's of classic aviation. I remember my dad taking me to KEUG (Eugene Airport) back in the late 90's. It meant so much to see the old Delta 727's like I remember them (they used to fly them to KSLC), and the old bowling shoe United 737-200's that used to come and go to KSFO every hour. Some great spotting back then, now it's all express CRJ's, the only interesting traffic is the Allegiant MD-80's and the Boeing 757's. Thanks so much for preserving history

To me these are real videos. I miss the old airlines TWA, America West etc and the liveries they use to have. Delta, United. I hate all the Regional Jets we have now. I miss the 727's. Those were one of my favorite aircraft of all time.

I agree 100%! Planes aren’t exciting anymore. They all look the same now, and they sound boring. No powerful thunderous roar. These videos capture the way things used to be on a regular basis. I sure miss those days.

Your videos are gold, Ryan...this is awesome footage! I can't believe how much video you guys took back then. Did you know in 20 years that the industry wouldn't look like even a shadow of what it was back in 1989? Thankful you preserved the good days on your video camera. A+++

Love these classics Ryan! This is a piece of amazing history that we will never see again. Aviaton was much more elegent back then, maybe that's just my opinion, but we've got such great beaty's here! I'm 17 and live in Australia and I remember 727's and 737 classics were very very common! Today all you see is 737NG

@NWA941, thanks so much, it's always cool to hear from somebody in your age group that appreciates this era of aviation! Wait until you see the upcoming videos in this series (Part 5 is my personal favorite).

RyanBomar I can’t thank you enough for this glimpse into the past. My first flight I remember was in 1989 on a USAir flight from Indianapolis to Orlando, we usually flew out of Chicago Ohare or midway so I do not remember why we drove to Indianapolis, A USAir DC-10. I was 7 and it was my first flight I recall going on. USAir would later have its problems and fold but I remember it being a great flight. What a great era of aviation, 1988-1996. I just love American culture from the late 1980s and early 1990s. ThAnk you
