I don't think ppl appreciate how patient leopard mothers are. She is her baby's EVERYTHING . Food security, reassurance . She is her babys only family technically . She is her baby's play mate. She has to be patient enough to be a practice target if her cub has no litter mates. What a hard job
Fantastic video. Little Tlalamba is so playful and energetic, ultimately practising her hunting skills. Mama Thandi, not quite so much, she is tired after hunting, taking down and hoisting her prey into a tree. The beautiful Thandi is such a good Mama and Tlalamba, with her cute kittenish qualities, is enough to keep any Mama from indulging in a well earned siesta.
The BEST thing that’s happened to me all day is seeing the joyful playfulness between this mom and daughter. Thandi and Tlalamba have become my “hope to see” with each SafariLive drive. How old is Thandi? She’s such a good momma and so patient. Watching Tlalamba as she’s growing has been a privilege. She’s got such curiosity and definitely a flare for fun and hijinks. 2011ACVVV Thank you! Wow! Knowing Thandi is almost 12, that would be about 60 something years in human life? I don’t know how a leopard’s life years compares to human beings. Regardless, Thandi shows great activity, playfulness, and patience with her cub. Not many later in life human being moms would be as patient and terrific as Thandi. These two leopards together are pure gold!

Just look at Thalamba's big beautiful eyes, and Thandi's big gorgeous paws. They look so gorgeous sitting side by side, mother and her mini me.
