I just thought of great upgrade: wooden slats that match the top and attach to the sides of rails with magnets. When you remove the top leaves, you then move the wooden slats to the top of the rails to create a nice arm rest. Looks better as a dining table; works better as a game table.
I was pretty high up in the queue at backer number 200. Ultimately your first video made me double think my idea in backing this table. The main issue I had was the underneath when looking up. Those rods make the table look really cheap and I have my fears on how well those 3 or 5 boards will do on top. I ultimately canceled my pledge and went with a Gametopper much better looking and the price point for a full packed package is roughly the same as this table.
I still think the initial idea is ok, but the arm rests just look like and after-thought.
