Something noteworthy about this scene I've not seen mentioned before: During the sex scene he keeps trying to treat her like the subservient women he's used to in his village and every single time she has none of it - he pushes her onto the bed and tries to climb on over her, but she pushes him back and makes sure she ends up on top, he starts to undo her clothes but she moves his hands away like he's a kid reaching for a cookie. Even when he moves them back and starts to lift her top off, she makes sure she's the one actually removing it and that she's looking down at him while she does so. Poor bastard probably didn't know what hit him long before the answer was "a fucking magician".

That's because the actors who played Elliot and Kadie are actually trained singers (and I believe Brittany Curran, aka Fen)
