My mother made the Moon cookies too, and that's what She called them as well! I've made them every year since she passed and my daughter does too. I'm ready to get to it!

I am laughing, and teary, and so proud of my mother, Oma. Delicious treats, and so special! Love the hat - and the decor. And pretty Xmas blouse!

Brings back memories from my own Oma Who used to bake a variety of delicious German cookies around Weihnachtszeit🎄
But my favorite was always Zwetschgen Klöse ... dumplings with plum inside covered with melted butter and cinnamon😋

Oma, it is Christmas 2018 and I have just discovered your yummy videos. I am planning to make these 2 recipes for my family. My mother is half Hungarian and will be so surprised when I show up with these treats! Thank you so very much for sharing your talents with us. May God bless you and your family at Christmas and throughout the New Year. P.S. I hope you are still wearing that blouse, you look beautiful in it!

She is wonderful. I am hungarian and listening and watching her is like comfort food to me. Reminds me of my mother at times, its that wonderful accent.

I love that you share your family recipes. My mother in-laws family, keep all their recipes secret, unfortunately several of them have passed, and have taken their recipes with them. Now no one can enjoy those family favorites. I always share my recipes, I think keeping them secret is silly. Why not everyone enjoy what is good and yummy. Keep up the good work.

I am so so glad to have stumbled across this! The baking looks delicious and Oma is charming. Reminds me very much of my own German American Grandma and our Christmas traditions.

VANILLA CRESCENTS!!!! My grandma made those every Christmas!!!!!!!! My grandma's own recipe has unfortunately been lost, so my mom and I make the recipe we found in a German cook book, but they break very easily after they bake and we roll them in the powdered sugar... We'll have to try yours!! You don't put your dough in the freezer at all?

My mother was born in Sopron Hungary and expelled after the war because of her German ethnicity.... did the same happen to the adorable OMA here ? Love there videos

All my relatives also came from Sopron and Zambek - they were not expelled because of their ethnicity. As my mother told me once, they could have stayed if they had accepted Hungarian nationality.

Strange. Moon cookies are called Kiffles in Austria / hungary. Wonder why she doesn't use the old country term.
