Went to school with him. Saw him playing open mic night every tuesday at the restaurant I worked at. Nobody would go on after him so he'd wait ill everyone played their bit. Very classy guy!
gamerserver1 He used to play at Bw3’s restaurant here in Steamboat back in the 90’s... He was just another local that could play guitar... he blew up and no one saw him again
Been a fan of Kellars for a long time. The first time I took my girlfriend to see him live we happened to be walking by the bar to order a drink and he was sitting there, no shoes of course, introduced ourselves and had a drink with him. He found 3$ that was under my girlfriends seat and said "here, I think you dropped this out of your sachel" we just gave it to the bartender. My girlfriend told him i was a musician and he was an enormous influence to me, offered for him to come jam at our place, he declined, as it was like 3am. Gave us an autograph and some pics. Pretty chilled guy. I'll be a keller fan for life
Saw him on my birthday many many years ago. Had never heard of him. I walked away very impressed and a fan. It was right after Michael Houser had passed on. Keller busted out a Panic cover and it sealed the deal for me. Thanks Mikey. Thanks Keller.
I had met Keller Williams in 1995 in Charlotte NC after a Dead show around 2am in the parking lot of the hotel and he was playing some Dead and he asked if he could play some of his own tunes and just blew us away! this was back when he was selling his cd 'Freak' out of the back of his truck, bought one and turned a lot of people on to it. one of the guys I turned on to it ended being his road mng. Dave Scott, if anyone knows of him, he stayed with him for quite awhile. he played a friends birthday party, on his back deck. this was in the mid to late 1990's and have taped him many, many times.
+Jeffrey Young I've only known about Keller for a few years, I knew he was around for a long time but didn't know that he was around that long. Awesome story.
I was lucky enough to walk him back to his car after a show one time. I was just a fan, but we chatted about northern Virginia and Hampton Roads traffic like we were buddies. He was super excited about the homemade chicken dinner his wife had packed for him. Great guy ❤
This would have been around the time I first saw Keller live. Dude puts on the best shows. From what I remember of it, it was a hell of a good time in a small venue. He's still touring and I am trying to see him in July for the first time in 20 years and you know what? I guarantee he still rocks.
Me too. I also always recommend this song to people. I love watching him live. He has so much fun up there and you can really tell he absolutely loves what he does.
Try to also get into Jack Rose, he’s also from Fredericksburg, VA and I feel represents the other side of the solo guitar coin. You won’t be disappointed!
LOL .... me too. Oh, btw, when is he NOT tearing it up. Ummmm maybe when he takes a sec to sing acapella, whistle or etc. He's awesome. Hope you are doing well. 🙏😎🙏
I worked at the BW3’s restaurant in Steamboat Springs back in ‘96... Keller lived here and played open mic night every Sunday night..he was just another local back then that could play the guitar...a lot of people doubted him but as soon as I heard him do the Sanford and Son I was like this guy is going to the big time! Then a few years went by he disappeared from Steamboat and before ya knew it he was on Panic Tour... nice work Keller! Come get some freshies in the Boat!!
This song is very technically impressive, it's got got a catchy chorus, nothing is wrong with it but it just doesn't give me the same super happy enjoyment feeling that some other songs he has like doobie in my pocket. This is a good video however to be like look at what a master of his craft he is. However the whole reason I wrote this very lengthy preamble is because despite that there is one quick transcendent moment that everytime I listen to this it's because I want to hear this part. After the first chorus when he stops playing guitar and whistles Andy Griffith, the part where he just quickly transitions into the second verse that says "rave girl..." I don't really know what it is about it but it just makes the hair on my neck stand up. It's so good.
Yeah pretty much the biggest influence on my musical career. But I use pro tools and Ableton. But do you know how hard it is to loop like that just on the spot? Like next fucking level!! Respect my dude!!
I stumbled upon this late one random night, as it aired on a just as random college television station (at least I'm pretty sure that's what it was. I was in college at the time, ten years ago, so I'm making an assumption on this.) More than a decade later, and it still sounds fly as funk to me. Also, is that Shauna Malwae-Tweep?!
I saw Keller for the first in 2010 at Starry Night Music Festival in Bowling Green Kentucky and I had never heard of him. But after he was introduced he went into a solo for about 15 minutes and it was as if my brain had completely melted. Honestly changed my whole perception of music.
I like Keller Williams and really dig it from a guitarists standoint. He is clearly a freak of nature. If he could connect emotionally and melodically he would be a household name, but I really think he hides behind his insane chops and it is why you know guys that strum bar chords by just their first name, and if you heard of Keller it is because you were looking for real estate and clicked here or showed up early for a String Cheese show.
Going to see Keller here in North Carolina (Carolina Theatre in Durham) on Feb. 16th, 2017 along with Leo Kottke. Should be a magical evening for sure!! :-)
I just saw them in Ft Lauderdale. I wanted to see Leo for ages. I've seen Keller a few times before. South Florida is a little bit of a music desert. Amazing show that I won't forget. No loop machine or anything this time around. Just straight guitar and piano with some fun audience participation.
IN MORE THAN ONE WAY!! lol allgood this year was the best!!!seen him up front and im seein him new years in rva.CANT WAIT!! GOD BLESS KELLER FANS EVERYWHERE!!
I'm in the Recipe :) The female vocalist currently, (and hopefully for a long time,) Shannon. Had a great morning Sunday. I missed Keller though because we didn't get there until late Saturday. We played with him at Gratefulfest on July 4th, too. Very talented.
Someone just told me that I remind of you so I thought I'd come by and hear you....I feel like that was a great compliment after hearing you . I'm Tommy Young at reverbnation under alternative in Austin 'Indian Bluegrass
Holy CRAP!!! That man's a genious! I was a programmer at a radio station last year, and I remember the day that his Dream album came in and I geve it a listen, I have to say it changed my life. haha
2024. I had to visit this song. Keller Willaims will be known by Moore than he already is known by. I see a breakthrough. Knowledge is power they say. Keller knows more cords than Chuck Norris knows Punches. Times change kids. Let's Ride Kellerd Wibes to move forward. Whistle outside with the crickets.
@38sydsdad , Thanks man, I am and you are much appreciated for the turn on. Great musicians are always welcme in my house :-) Reminds me of the very beautiful Michael Hedges may he rest in Peace.
no such thing as a bad song if you look at them right. everyones got a point behind it. its art bro. take it as it comes or leave it as you go. all there is too it. keller is the one man jam band god.
I'm going to see him in Cumberland Caverns in Mcminnville, Tn. next Sunday. For a taping of Blue Grass Underground on PBS. Check out the show sometime, it is a series of concerts in a cave some 333 ft below the surface....the acoustics are incredible and a very intimate setting for an awesome show in an even better venue!
Went to school with him. Saw him playing open mic night every tuesday at the restaurant I worked at. Nobody would go on after him so he'd wait ill everyone played their bit. Very classy guy!

The 45 people who disliked this video do not know nor appreciate great music. Keller Williams is an incredible musician.

+Jeffrey Young Thats a great story Jeff. I saw Keller as a HS freshman in 2000 for the first time and love hearing stories of 90s keller meetings
+Jeffrey Young That's pretty cool.
+Jeffrey Young I've only known about Keller for a few years, I knew he was around for a long time but didn't know that he was around that long. Awesome story.
I had no idea he was so from back in the day. I learned about him around 05, 06.... all my friends listening to electronic stuff and me chilling
Show us videos!
I was lucky enough to walk him back to his car after a show one time. I was just a fan, but we chatted about northern Virginia and Hampton Roads traffic like we were buddies. He was super excited about the homemade chicken dinner his wife had packed for him. Great guy ❤
17 years later: still holds up.

I just can’t fucking get enough of this. I come back every couple of days for the feel goods
Me too. I also always recommend this song to people. I love watching him live. He has so much fun up there and you can really tell he absolutely loves what he does.
Love Keller. Was there in the beginning of my festival career. and he still in the scene today.
This song has been stuck in my head for the past few days. And let me just say these past few days have been great.
He has a great Real Estate Agency.
Ha, nice.
Haha i always laugh at those signs. Its not the same is it.
It's definitely not the same
Only "discovered" this guy in an old guitar magazine this week. OH MY GOD - WHAT HAVE I BEEN MISSING !!!!
Try to also get into Jack Rose, he’s also from Fredericksburg, VA and I feel represents the other side of the solo guitar coin. You won’t be disappointed!
This guy is amazing its crazy how he can comprehend how to mix all the instruments together himself and make it work.
Talk about a one man show,,, the best part is he doesn't need anyone else, awesome!
I love how he turns down the master with his nose. BRAVO Keller.
Keller is one badass mother.
I urge everyone to go watch one of his concerts.
Incredible one man band. So glad I got to see him at Waka.
that guitar lick is addicting
he is extremely talented, the way he strums that guitar in this song perplexes me every time.
may the music never stop.
I like the part where he's tearing it up on guitar.
So, all of it?
@@SydneyBooksMusic I was just going to say that lol
@@imwiththeunderhills2128 , we are always older than yesterday and younger than tomorrow my friend.
Trust me, I come from a week in the future!
LOL .... me too.
Oh, btw, when is he NOT tearing it up. Ummmm maybe when he takes a sec to sing acapella, whistle or etc.
He's awesome.

Yeah pretty much the biggest influence on my musical career. But I use pro tools and Ableton. But do you know how hard it is to loop like that just on the spot? Like next fucking level!! Respect my dude!!
Then you need to check out a fella named Monty Montgomery!!! He will BLOW YOUR MIND!
