I've never heard of a double X stand, I was always worried about stability on those but now I think it'll be worth it since I need to put away the stand after every use as well.
What about those forked V type multi stands? When you you get into adding a second tier, or accessories like mic or tablet holder, does that effect which basic shape you start with?
I just purchased a double X stand from Sweetwater and it doesn’t want to unfold. It just gets stuck on the first button and won’t unfold anymore. Anybody got any tips on how to fix this?
The x stands are pretty sturdy for what they are. Z would be better, but I think you’ll be good. Just get a good brand like Hercules and not a cheap one
@@TheWorshipPortal I was wanting the Z version. The one with a second tier. I was going to order today but wanted to make sure it would work. I appreciate you
I tig weld aluminum keyboard stands, they can be thrown off a skyscraper. Design them, weld them and powdercoat them. I could send you one for free if you wanna review it. i'm just looking for input for the next prototype. Let me know if your interested. You can keep the stand. sell it for hundreds.
I can honestly say that for the entire scripting and filming of this video, the thought of “zed” never even occurred to me until I read your comment… what have I become?
The On-Stage Z-Stands are HORRIBLE. Knee room is atrocious because the stand was engineered in REVERSE of the Hercules stand, with the slant pointed towards your knees.
@@TheWorshipPortal You can't turn it around if you want to use the second tier and even if you only use one tier and turn it around, your shins are up against the brace instead of your knees. The ONLY way to overcome this problem it to attach a shelf to the bottom tier that extends well beyond the stand, and then do the same for the top tier. Then you can sit back far enough to avoid the brace. You're better off just buying a stand that is engineered better or build one from scratch yourself. I use my On-Stage Z-Stand to hold plants now.
Mate, take a breath. Both of these Hercules stands hold large keyboards very well, I use a S88. Like I mentioned in the video the Z Stand is MUCH more stable, but the X is still good for the portability it offers.
I dont understand how can anyone serious use X stands? Where do you put your legs? They hit damn X bars. If you ever played teal piano, there should be room for legs UNDER keys.
Can’t say I’ve ever played a teal piano. That sounds a bit tacky honestly. Seriously though, I love my z-stand for home, but it’s too chunky and awkward for me to enjoy hauling it while gigging. That’s the only real advantage to an X stand.
Excellent z and x stands. I have two Xs. Now want two Z stands.
Thank you
They’re both good for different things, but I prefer Z

As a truck driver, that is extremely important to me. Having something that can fold for easy storage
WOW that's crazy because I've never seen the single X . I've always just seen the double X .
Great review. Thanks! :)
Thanks for checking it out 🙂
Helpful review, nicely done in all respects. Helped me decide to stick w/ my X-stand for gigging.
Glad I could help! And thanks for letting me know!
Good to know re: multi-tier stand pros and cons. Thank you for the video.
is there a stand that allows for the angle of the keyboard to be changeable
i think Anomalie has one for his live shows, but im not sure exactly what he uses. i think there is a video out there where he says what he uses tho.
The real question is.... what is the table or desk that you were using to lower the stand at 3:48? 👀
Haha! It’s an IKEA kitchen countertop with a TopSky dual motor standing base. 10/10 would recommend! Very stable and it’s huge!
@@TheWorshipPortal Thanks I'll look it up!
great review¡

I’m a it a normal double x or the Hercules double x? Normal double x stands you usually have to press the button in to get it to move again
@@TheWorshipPortal it’s a double X stand. I was able to get it to fold out but I had to pull the pin and try not to pinch my fingers 😅
Yeah that’s why I recommend the Hercules stand. It just opens and closes without the awful pins or buttons like I show in the video
Do you think the RockJam Xfinity Heavy duty x stand is a decent buy? I’m looking for a stand for a 49 key.
Honestly anything will hold a 49 key with no issues. I’m sure the Rockjam will be just fine
Will the X be sturdy enough to keep a Kawai Es120 still with slight aggressive playing?

Thank you!
Awesome video. 👍🏾👍🏾
Z isn’r adjustable? Can it support 88 keys well? I don’t need portable.
The Z definitely is adjustable and it can support more than an X can. I have an S88 on mine
Great video!! Would this hold and support the new Akai MPC 37 Key? Thanks!!
Which one? I review two. The X stand most likely would, the Z probably would too but is overkill for a little midi controller
@@TheWorshipPortal I was wanting the Z version. The one with a second tier. I was going to order today but wanted to make sure it would work. I appreciate you
Is there a table top for the z stand
No, it’s a keyboard stand. Your keyboard goes on top. But I suppose you could put one on
great video
Thanks!
can caster wheels be added to the z stand?
I don’t believe so. You can find plenty on Amazon that do but the Hercules does not apparantly
thanks

I was about to say!! Heh heh
Can I request a Song,
Instrumental song of (Here be lions- I belong to you)
You sound Australian and a little American at the same time. Great review btw
Oh man, don't tell me that! I don't wanna sound american! Thanks for the love mate!
Thank you for not saying zed.
man I have X stands. my legs are too lanky to ever be okay with them
My X keyboard damaged my midi. Never ever going with a X again
Very nice video, but the background music is very annoying.
Definitely not X. Got one and it collapses repeatedly.

Z stand it is😊
looks like a copy of a quiklok stand

can somebody fucking show how stable it is when you actually play a keyboard on it??????????????????????

You stand with X stands! Fast & quick..who sits when performing
i have both, X stand is very useful when you play stand, and Z very comfortable when you're sit
