*Real handy when there's just the two of you. Beats having to heat up the oven to warm stuff up. Great for frying bacon...not near **MyBest.Kitchen** the mess and so much better than micro waving. Ton's of stuff at the grocery store just made for air frying.*
update: I usually use this about 2x/wk, and still love it th-cam.com/users/postUgkxD4Qeo-HRLxMfom_PDinM_SBfes00qJsB HOWEVER, you may want to check the screw tightness periodically on the baskets. One screw fell down the garbage disposal and scared the bajeezas out of me when I unknowingly turned the disposal on. Solved the mystery on where it came from, though.I've only had this for a little over a week, but I am loving it. So far I've made cajun-style shrimp, roasted potatoes, carrots, salmon, and today I made THE BEST chicken wings. Since I've never owned an air fryer, I mostly followed the recipes in the provided book. My only regret is that I didn't buy the larger size. There are just 2 of us, though, so it'll do. Clean up is a breeze, and in the summer it is fantastic not to have to heat up the oven for roasting (which is why I bought one in the first place).
I had the Gourmia GAF658 for over a year until the handle melted. It was a basket within a basket design and IT DID cook more evenly AND added more "crisp" to my food. The simple tray seems to take longer to crisp my wings or sizzle my steaks. Unfortunately I think they a discontinuing the GAF658.
Poolarity - Life Hacks I have used mine about 5 times now and the smell is no different. Still smells like plastic 😕 did you do anything to get rid of the smell quicker?
@@andiahila3671 Did you turn it to 400 degrees? To "burn" all the smell away. Also, look up at the heating element and check if there is anything stuck there. Make sure its unpluged and cooled off first.
Poolarity - Life Hacks yup I did 400 every time 😩 and nothing seems to be stuck. today I put some apple cider vinegar & lemon juice in a small bowl & put in the air fryer at 400 for 30 min. There was a major difference but the smell is still there. I guess I’ll try it a few more times before contacting the company
Andia Hila I am having the same issue. I will not eat any food that I cook in here. It taste so gross. I’ve cooked like a dozen Times in here😕 I’m bummed. I was so excited about this too
Is it hard to pull out the crisper tray? I have arthritis and I can't get the crisper out of the Ninja air fryer so I'm looking for a different product.
The advantage for a tray within a tray is that you can release the tray and pour your food out of the tray without all the grease coming with it? How can you not realize that. I do agree about the square style, it has more space to hold more foods. Thanks
Yes! But if you want to put foil on top of something, you need to make sure you attach the foil to something (like a small glass dish) because the air will blow it around the inside chamber if it's not held down. Placing foil on the bottom of your food....no prob!
Yep, you pretty much hit on the same points I like about my Gourmia 6qt like yours. Having the flat top to place a plate or something on gains back some real estate. And the wide base design of the basket is the most efficient. A basket with the same quart capacity but with a small base but taller is inefficient and you actually have way less than the quart capacity to be able to cook with because you need to spread food out and not pile it on. The size and shape of the basket can literally mean being able to cook two hamburger patties vs 4 at the same time. As for cleanup, it is actually pretty easy so far as long as the non stick holds up. Last thing is the perforated circulation pans are easier to clean than a mesh style rack.
the 1 basket in basket has got to be a cleaning night mare, i got the other type at a good will for only $20, and also i was suprised how many air fryers are facebook market place, which makes me think, they regreted buying a air fryer, but for $20 i can live with the loss, i would never pay brand new store price, and their is more of a trial and error, compared to a square electric skillet, so far what i have found, is 300 degrees in any cooking, you are less likely to burn anything, and whats more deadly is to put any electrical skilet over 300, at 450 you would have oil smoking, and the very worst thing would be to have a flash fire, you go to throw water on it now you set the whole room on fire, and you might even get severe burns of die in a horable fire, so i dont go by the menu, i just keep it at 300 degrees, low and slow is alot beter an safer, and i am by no means a cook
Not sure why you think that running something that sounds like a vacuum cleaner while you cook isn't something that would bother anyone. I find the noise these things make enough to require earplugs! Not everyone tolerates noise well. I like the convenience of an air fryer and hate the noise enough to keep me from using it unless I can go to another room.
I could NOT believe this air fryer came with a 2 prong plug!!!! I habe this exact same one. The Teflon is totally absurd....I'm regretful because literally EVERYTHING I make in this air fryer has this terrible "flavor", it's almost chemical, like a plastic overtone 😭

How do you change F° to C°?
Any plastic smell a plastic burnt smell and if so does it go away with using it more
The plastic burnt smell goes away after 3 to 5 times...and decreases every time

I find your videos helpful and informative. One question?? What are the dimensions of cooking area for the 6 qt.?
Do you always have to put the bottom tray or can you use it without it?
You do, that way the hot air flows.
does this have a rack where you can cook both meat and veggies at same time?
This one yes, I bought this at Costco and it had an elevated rack
Just bought gormia 8 quart...works awesome so so good 😊
i agree about the ceramic, do you know any brands other than ninja that has that?
Aria
My temperature icon is not on display anybody know y?

Is it just me or is the door extremely hard to close?
Not just you, its like that, I've had it for 6 months and its still like that. both to pull out and push in

It smokes badly I have the 8 quart
