  • I had a chance to film these two amazing young American Bulldog males who drove across half the country. These two Bulls are awesome examples of a very powerful breed! As you viewers know I love all bull breeds so any chance I get to capture some raw footage of some real deal dogs I'm all over it! Short video nothing fancy since we didn't have much time to film and started losing light! Hope you enjoy it.

    Idk if “original” or not but I loved video! Had to put my bulldog to sleep Dec 28th due to melanoma. She was very strong, powerful, loving, & most protective dog I’ve ever had. She’s even say “good Mwah-Ning” every morning and loved certain songs on CD. R I P Miss Bellie. ❤️❤️❤️

      Sounds like my girl that I had to put to sleep just over a year ago because of cancer! Same thing even till her last day the vets were surprised and said to me "she is a strong girl" she was powerful, extremely protective of me and she was fearless! One key thing you see in this breed! As well as the love they give you is different to other breeds hard to explain IV owned and been around alot of breeds but after owning an AB I wouldn't have any other breed! But she was just a special dog I miss her every day!

    STUNNING !! My boy is the hybrid American Bulldog hes big and beautiful he's just turned 12 months !!! He's so bloody hyper and energetic lol a lot of people think American Bulldogs are lazy and can't handle work...trust me they most definitely are not lazy and can definitely handle work ! They are the type that can go hiking or for a jog with you, they definitely need a good amount of exercise to keep them mentally and physically fit and also satisfied, having said that they do tire quick in the heat but I think that's like most dogs tbh.

    Simms line was the best all around American bulldog . you can hunt 🐗 all day with them they were smart they weren't dog aggressive. They didn't overheat. They set all the records for weight pulling. They took the world title schuetzen protection against all the Rottweilers and Dobermansin Europe where they wouldn't allow them to ever come back. Kyle had them in movies homeward bound. They were the first flammable detection dogs in California. And for eight years straight they won all the athletic competitions cross training 90 mile runs etc.

    This video is incomplete with respect to the two variations of American Bulldog as the video images only depict the Johnson variety with the short muzzle. The Scott version is leaner, more athletic, super fast and much healthier as any concerns with respect to breathing issues due to a short muzzle and nose do not apply to the scot version as the dimensions of their snouts is much more in line with that of a Lab or similar breed.

      @Spirit, Calm down, mate! First of all, they are AMERICAN Bulldogs; created in the AMERICAN South. I know they can handle the heat. Hell, there are people with Siberian Huskies living here. I wouldn't subject a Siberian Husky to our heat; and for my purposes, I wouldn't subject the larger, Johnson dogs to our heat and humidity. Especially when there are types that are better suited for the heat, and my pursuits. Use that attitude of yours to resist your country's oppressive polices and their repressive police state.

    Nice looking dogs but not good for the riggers of farm work. Brachycephalic dogs overheat too easily. A dog's muzzle is a big part of its air conditioning. Scott, and Painter dogs did the real work. Johnson dogs were better for security than for doing catch work or hunting. Also don't get sucked in by those Brachycephalic (flat faced) Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldogs. A true Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog should have a true working muzzle with a slight undershot acceptable.

You actually complete my point for me.I grew up in Texas we had cattle we had hogs we had varmints, we had livestock thieves a dog needed to be able to do it all to be worth it. Hey if you just want a dog to guard your yard and be intimidating to the local thieves in the neighbourhood. That dog would do just fine. It's just not a performance dog and where you might understand that a lot of people don't. And there are breeders out there trying to promote those types of dogs as performance dogs.

    • @MrDelsoleg11
      @MrDelsoleg11 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TriggaPapi24 you should look up their history lol being bred for bull baiting is what that's makes them such great hunters, a dog that would fight a bull would fight/kill anything. The scott type of bulldog are still widely used today as feral pig and other medium game hunters. The johnson type on the other hand like in this video were bred for as the other person mentioned home guarding and herding since they're naturally much bigger then the scott type, but being that much bigger with such short snouts they have issues with overheating and breathing when working for prolonged periods. None of which is a problem with the scott type since they're on the smaller side and have a more functional head type. All in all they're both great versatile dogs.

    Those dogs are way too heavy/fat to do their original work ! A lot of show English Bulldog in them. I don't 'buy' the myth that the American Bulldog is the pure pre 1800 working English Bulldog. They come from taller white apbt's, bullterriers and white boxers. In 1970 there were a lot of crosses to broaden the gene pool or to get a certain look, or even create this breed. Show English Bulldog, Bullmastiff, Dogue De Bordeaux, Saint Bernard and who knows what else were bred in. Any farmer who works cattle will tell you the AB is not suited for this job

      johan bauwens - your comment may be true for the dogs shown in this videos but the Scott Type or Standard type American Bulldog is what this video should’ve displayed with a title like that. Scott Type dogs still thrive as catch dogs and hog dogs all over the place. They are more athletic and have more stamina due to their structure than the Johnson lines showed in this video.
