It’s interesting, the really cute Paris Airbnb you stayed in was so amazing because it was well lived in full of things the owner had acquired over time. Books they probably bought to be read, not just for aesthetic. I’m not dissing macenna, but I think this is kind of faux lived in. I would recommend filling your shelves with things that have more importance to you more than just aesthetic appeal. I think your home will feel richer and more “you” filled with things that are personally important to you.
I remember that Airbnb it was so lovely and charming and full of personality. It was amazing

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but you will need to anchor everything to the wall, like the curio cabinet. Cade will soon be crawling and pulling himself up on everything and it's easier to anchor before you fill. Just a suggestion 💜💙💚💛🧡
I don’t often comment, but I’ve been watching for a few years. But, one of the things that stands out to me in your videos is how respectful Romeo is of your ideas, your thoughts and your needs. I recognize this is reciprocating- you are his biggest fan! But, I love that he’s so down for anything you want to do, respectful and open to your creativity; it a joy to watch.

A puck light or somekind of light in bookshelf shining down on the decor and then a small light over your art above it would look lovely It would give it a beautiful Vintage ambient soft yellow glow that will go with the vibe of the cabinet 😊

The curio cabinet came out just perfect! Seems like you are doing very well adjusting to your new life as a Mom. Taking care of yourself and your sweet little family will pay off in many untold ways. Great idea about freezing the books ! I never really thought about that ...you can come back to Texas and visit your family then hire one of your cabinet guys to strip the beams while you are here 😊💞
You never know what you're bringing home with you! Many moons ago, I brought my parents a big, antique wooden box I bought for them as a souvenir while in my honeymoon in the Caribbean. First time she vacuumed a couple of weeks after she set it in place, she noticed some dusty stuff around the box but didn't think much of it and thought it must have just come off when we brought it in. Two weeks later, she vacuumed again (not a high traffic room so not vacuumed as often) and there was quite a lot more of it. She was puzzled, but still didn't pick up on it. The following week she decided she'd check on it and that's when she realized - I'd brought her a box infested with woodworms!! She got rid of it pronto before they started eating her house!
I kinda want all the construction workers to come back and see your work and theirs all melded together. All their reactions would be fun to watch. ❤

Yes!!! What about having their families for a Saturday fun pool afternoon, and snacks and drinks. Something easy for you and Romeo. Oh course, it could be too much at this time in your lives, but think of how proud the men would be to show off their work to their families.

So true!! How often MaCenna has said she hated grocery shopping and loved her delivery companies. But 5 months on doing *just* that would change anyone's mind;) I'm sure there will be times in future when ordering in will be a treat, but right now, I totally understand she wants her hubby in the kitchen cooking her delicious meals, and I'm sure Romeo is glad to have his kitchen back!

honestly..., it might be worth it for you to pay someone to strip the beams. It is a lot of work, and while it would save money to do it yourself, it would be quicker paying someone else to do it. Time is money afterall. Love the new kitchen!

Even if you had to wait a little bit longer to do it; It would be worth it not to have that extra stress along with all the other new things in your life. Just think of the time you could spend with baby while the workers were scraping the beams!!
They may want a bit of a break from having workers in the house at the moment though!

I loved seeing the beautiful, new kitchen from where you were sitting in your living room. You have designed such a gorgeous renovation and the attention to detail shows. The crystal chandelier peaking through the entrance to the kitchen is the icing on the cake. So much sunshine, which makes it such a happy space. I agree with waiting to strip the living room beams with having a baby in the house; however, painting the living room will make your space feel more settled and will help with your creativity.
Your Mom's painting looks beautiful in that frame and the cabinet is so special.
How fun. Can't help but think of just *life* in the kitchen. Projects and conversations. Planning and dreaming. Homework on the kitchen table for Cade. Laughing and tears and...life. ❤

Not me saying “yep!! Love. Yes.” To every item she placed in the curio cabinet 😂 One of my fave shelf stylings so far I think!
You should put a plant with a sort of vine that could hang off the side of the curio cabinet on top of the book, so when you're walking in the kitchen it just give a sense of nature .(And I think it would look gorgeous)
16:38; that frame has a liner frame which a good framer can take out & replace with a narrower one to increase the opening & accommodate your hydrangea painting...
Maybe it will be in another video but I would love to see how you utilized your storage in the kitchen! Just how all the details and special organization elements you added look now being put to use. I feel like you put so much thought into those aspects too I would love to see them in action!
It would be so cool if your candle company came out with a tapered decorative candle line. And maybe some candle holders too
Not sure if anyone else is seeing this but there is some sort of visual glitch on the video from 14:39-14:49 ? The audio plays all the way through but it pauses and gets pixelated when Macenna is talking about the games. Loving the organization so far though!

Little safety tip. I'd secure the curio cabinet to the wall before Cade becomes mobile. I had one similar and my kid flipped it over on himself. He was fine because it landed away, but that's not something I ever thought to do before that happened. 💙 I love your videos and style.
Since the ceiling is higher in the living room u could put the faux beams around your beams in the living room to give more impact.... Or paint the beams with the material that makes it look like wood then stain them.
The curio cabinet would be really good for showcasing a collection of quilts as well!

The floors in the kitchen are gorgeous now that they cleaned, and sealed them. Wow! So pretty. Loving everything. It’s all coming together. Love the idea of the family room being more warmer on the walls.
I really love your kitchen. It's so gorgeous, and the blue is so pretty . When i was a child 50 ish years ago here in the UK my grandmother had what we call here a china cabinet and she kept all her china in it plus other pretty items i use to spend ages looking in it and admiring its treasures

It’s nice to see you accomplishing the home run on these spaces. You’ve been so patient. Just a friendly suggestion, I wonder if you might try moving the diptych paintings much closer together. That big space in between is not exactly how diptychs are intended to present. Maybe try them with no more than a four to five inch gap in between. I feel confident you will be pleased with the result!
You could take the frame to a framer and have a piece of trim made to add to the inside of the opening to make it fit your picture.
I think the salt ‘cellar’ is most practical by the cooktop - if you decide to keep it in the kitchen.
A beautiful gold ornate mirror and tall vase with twigs or branches would look really good on the cabinet in the living room. Would tie in the entry mantle too

I turned up the brightness on my screen (‘cos the artwork from Paris was so dark) but I’m pretty sure your “hydrangeas” are either carnations (up close) or double peonies. Either way, they are pretty.

I absolutely love the kitchen. The walnut the glass the stone. I dont know if its the brightness or contast on camera or on my screen but the cooker hood looks baby blue almost like powder baby blue.
It doesn't look right, looks jarring with the rest of the classy subtle rich tones. Possibly looks different IRL. In any case, if you love it thats what matters.
Like your Mom's painting but the hydranga painting with the dark background looks sooooooo much better. Especially with that cream color frame is just perfect for cordinating your style from kitchen into living room perfectly. Go get a new cream frame to fit that French hydrangea painting. It is PERCECT!

You could get faux rustic wood beams that fit over the existing beams and boom you can stain or leave a natural bleached wood. They are very reasonably priced and makes a huge transformation easy and gorgeous.
Im so hapoy lifes getting back to normal for you guys. I feel like we went on a massive journey with you through the kitchen renovation 😅 its nice to scale back down from that and experience you decorating these micro curated spaces like the curio cabinet and your desk. Puts alot into perspective, just how much of an undertaking making a house into a home really is. I know you love how you designed your kitchen & it is beautiful!! You did an amazing job as always MaCenna~~- I love the color of the cabinet stain, cabinet jewelry, the beautiful oven w/the hood & corbels! So glad that you left the sink by the window! And of course the addition of another set of gorgeous French doors!! I find it looks so French & romantic!! However, I must confess, I really wish you would reconsider an island w/seating! And then perhaps also a small table if it could fit between island & doors. It just seems like an island might be more useful for your family's day to day living. In your last video you mentioned how you guys would probably mostly be using the end of the table closest to the oven & sink. I think based on the number of times you will have guests over that require all of the seating that the large table provides - you could figure something out for those times - plus, you have the option of eating in your outdoor setup! I realize of course at the end of the day - you & Romeo are happy w/your decision & that's all that matters! And who knows - anything can change! Congrats on your wonderful new kitchen! I know it feels so good to have it back! Enjoy it all in good health!

Everything has turned out beautifully- your hard work and love for what you do really paid off. Consider staining the frame over the curio the same color as the kitchen cabinets (leaving the cream mat). It would look good with your beams and give a sneak peek of your gorgeous kitchen.
