  • Anna Karenina has an all-star cast that includes Keira Knightley, Jude Law, Aaron-Taylor Johnson, Alicia Vikander, and many more. Relive the most iconic scenes of Anna Karenina for its 10th anniversary.
    Film Synopsis:
Academy Award® nominee Keira Knightley, Academy Award® nominee Jude Law and Aaron Taylor-Johnson dazzle in this stunning new vision of Leo Tolstoy’s epic love story. At the twilight of an empire, Anna Karenina (Knightley), the beautiful high-ranking wife of one of imperial Russia’s most esteemed men (Law), has it all. But when she meets the dashing cavalry officer Vronsky (Taylor-Johnson), there is a mutual spark of instant attraction that cannot be ignored. She’s immediately swept up in a passionate affair that will shock a nation and change the lives of everyone around her. From acclaimed director Joe Wright (Atonement, Pride & Prejudice) and Academy Award®-winning writer Tom Stoppard (Shakespeare in Love) comes this visually enchanting masterpiece hailed by critics as “ecstatic” (Time), “rapturous” (MSN Movies) and “a spectacle that has to be seen to be believed!” (The Huffington Post)

Yes. It wasn’t the “standard” waltz, but a beautiful “modern” variation!
      I love watching it!

I dont know if my writing will ever be made into a movie, but the director is BEYOND BRILLIANT. i'm jealous of how effortlessly he weaves each scene together/even gives the servants and miniscule/{presumably unimportant} people just as much attention as the main actors. Bravo!!!

Ikr? Stoppard wrote the screenplay and you can really see his brillance with the way he tells the story

The choreography was well-written. As usual with all books, I wish the movie justified it. But the chemistry in the beginning of Anna and Alexei was immaculate.

Vronsky is more attractive than Karenin according SOCIETYMATRIX WHAT WE ARE EXPECT TO FEEL,but reality is always subjective, therefore we are not allowed to feel that Karenin is prefered to Vronsky, but is old artParis to feel that was OKEJ

In the first scene shown here, Karenin acts like a man and Vronsky like a petulant child. I don't understand why Anna preferred Vronsky 😒

Do you say the same thing when you watch all those movies on Alexander the great, Cleopatra and the like?
Be honest with your self, you know if they did it in a Russian accent it would of souded tacky since none of them would of done it properly or the same. The only thing that would be nice imo is if they say the names of things properly.

At the time that Tolstoy wrote the book to take place, upper crust Russians usually spoke French. The “Russian accented” English that we hear today from bilingual Russians, was not a “thing” at the time Anna Karenina novel or War and Peace took place. At balls and other social events, bon ton (upper class) Russians spoke French to each other. The lower classes spoke Russian and unlikely had the education to learn English anyway.
Also, the last Tsar, Nickolas II and his family, when they spoke English language, they had British accent and did not speak English the way that I hear Russian figure skaters speak English with what we now call a “Russian accent.”

Parce que "Anna Karénine" est un roman MAGISTRAL de Léon Tolstoï ! qui décrit en détail les manières de vivre de la Russie du XIXe siècle : aristocratie ET gens du peuple, serviteurs...
