i remember back in '74 or '75 auburn just signed a player from john carroll and then he was driving a new olds cutlass 442.it was blue and the swivel seats.
@tlnicholson1 Last I checked, no one was driving a relatively new 350Z - and the NCAA wasn't asking them questions either because all the purchases have been verified.
@SPUD1880 -- I had it posted before under another account and it had about 5,000 views or more... but youtube shut down my other account and I had to re-upload some of my stuff including this series. So the numbers are definitely skewed a bit. lol
It's called scholarship checks buddy! And also Pell Grants. Everybody on here needs to CHILL and stop worrying about what college athletes drive and what kind of money they have. I mean, so what if they have nice things. They have to put in a lot of hard work and time to excel in their sport, on top of that being a full-time student. They deserve all the things that they have..
And yes I understand the amount of money each athlete is saving their household with a full-ride but still, if you come from a family with poor financial backing you cannot afford that.
@bamadogDOTcom4bama LOL. "Relatively new"? We are talking about a four year old car with 80k+ miles on it. With the trade-in of his crappy Charger, his mom got a final price of around $11k ... at 14% interest.
@tferg8 What funny is that he had that truck when he went to Bama. It's an OLD freaking truck that he paid little for and had painted purple. It's really not all that. And it's already been cleared thru the athletic dept's records. Nice try though. :)
@RMosack Yeah - and for a teenager, that's expensive.... I'd say that 4 years old is definitely relatively new. I think anyone with common sense would say that as well. I didn't say NEW - I said relatively new... sheesh. And saying what his mom paid for it is irrelevant to the NCAA. Could be $1K or $11K... doesn't matter.
You guys dont understand that athletes with huge potential get a credit line based on their projected earnings. I believe that's how LeBron James had a hummer in high school.
I am going to play under nick saban in 2 years (it would be this year but im goin to comunity college) people say im too small they say I wont make to those I say screw you. Im busting my ass on weight training and conditioning. i am currently 240 pounds in those 2 years I will go up to 270-275 I will prove everyone who was against me wrong. I may not start but I will get playing time while I attend the university of alabama
These guys have nice cars because their moms went from spending like $10,000 a year on a growing boy to $0. Now when a guy has a brand new car every month with dealer plates, (cough) Terrelle Pryor, that causes some suspicion.
@KingMcJamesProds Exactly......paging ESPN and Outside the Lines. .........care to set up camp in Tuscaloosa? Of course not..gotta protect your SEC product......
