How to Play Apple Girl

This is an instructional video on how to play Apple Girl. The genesis of this song was 1997 at a Seybold conference in Boston. I went with a coworker and, both of us being single at the time, we kept noticing this cute blonde girl from Apple Computer, probably there to do PR. After a while, every time we saw her, we would refer to her as the Apple girl. The phrase stuck in my head and I realize that it might make a good song. Since my daughters were about 5 and 7 at the time, I decided that it should be a kid-friendly song with the Apple Girl as the heroine, all sorts of fruit-related characters and that there should be a pun or two.
When I got back home, I scrambled down lyrics and worked through a few versions of the song before I settled upon something that seemed to work. I recorded versions one through four on my Tascam Midistudio 688 and the song stayed that way for years.
I revisited the song in late 2004 and re-recorded it from scratch in Pro Tools with decent equipment. I was still figuring out a few things, so, to my ears, the mix is a bit brash. However, I like the song regardless of the mix quality and the fact that my eldest daughter played trumpet in the bridge.
This instructional video features a much more recent mix that makes the song sound even better than it ever has. You can find the lyrics below.
NOTE: I realized after publishing the video that the 7th fret harmonic of the F string is C, which is the high string, not F. Silly goof I am.
