Rays vs dodgers has been the most fun series in a while

This was definitely one of the best games I've seen in a while. Both teams' lineups kept the entire game competitive. Congrats to the Rays on their win

I'm not even disappointed my Dodgers lost today. Today was a good battle, Reminded me of Game 4 of the 2020 WS. This was a good series between LA and TB. Go Dodgers and respect to Rays. Have a great season Rays fans. May the best one win.

@mattlopez8391 we've been to the WS 3 of the last 6 years. Frustrating when we get bounced early, but no other team but that Astros can almost gaurantee a WS appearance like we can. And even they're 4/6.

A great hitting performance by each team. This amazing series ending with an amazing game. Loved this series and loved the Rays getting their revenge on the Dodgers, from when they took their first ever ring away from the franchise. GG Dodgers. Next up for the Rays, is a trip to Chicago to face off against the Cubs.
The Phillies beat them in 2008
Winning a regular season matchup is hardly revenge for a World Series loss.

Can we please get the option to watch these highlights in native 1080p? Watching these clips on a TV or larger monitor is kinda rough at times because they're only rendered at 720p.

Fleming is god awful. There's no way he would not have been sent down to AAA if he was on ANY other organization. Rays have the absolute crappiest pitchers outside of mcClanahan and maybe efflin in the majors, now that springs and Rasmussen are done for (won't even count Glasgow cuz he will be injured for the rest of the season after a couple more games). They just sprinkle their secret sauce on these jokesters with Kyle Snyders pitch collation and analytics. Congrats to Fleming and his goggles on throwing his 77 mph fastballs. The biggest conundrum to pitch in major league games since Yarboroughs 67 mph fastballs on the rays last year.

@@andyappley7902 yes, you're right. In years prior, each division would get matched up vs another division for interleague play, and they'd only play 1 series against each club from that division. This year (and going foward) to balance out the standings a bit more, every team now faces every team in the other league in a series. So for the first time ever in an MLB season, all clubs will play each other. Though the # of games played against each club will still vary.
The reason for this happening is mostly due to an unbalanced playoff berth system. Teams and fans feel that a team that plays in a weak division should not get to benefit from playing those teams so many times. And teams in stronger divisions should get a fairer chance at a playoff berth with more games outside of their league and division. A bonus reason stated by MLB is that big clubs will also get to showcase themselves to more cities and areas of the country, bringing more fans to see teams they usually wouldn't get to see often. Instead of playing the 4 other teams in your division almost 50% of the season, fans now get to see their teams play against alot of other big clubs. Though while still maintaining interdivision rivalries with at least 4 series between each division rival throughout the season.

Roberts set Gavin Stone up to fail with this matchup against the scrappy Rays team. He threw him right into the fire after just barely being called up. Smh.
Good way for Stone to look at a good team and see what he needs to work on. Close game nonetheless. It's time these young pitchers get there feet wet with some prime baseball. It'll pay off later in the season.

QUESTION: I starting following baseball again after a 15 year absence and notice that it seems they are hitting way more homeruns than 15 years ago. Why is this?
players are more focused on launch angle and exit velo with statcast now and try to hit homeruns way more. strikeouts are also way up too. plus juiced balls (probably) and the pitch clock gives pitchers less time to regroup may help a little too. look up "three true outcomes" if you want to read into it more

Swing mechanics and new data have players focused so much on power now a days. As well as front offices valuing power over speed and contact these days as well. Thus filtering out those gritty groundball hitters, the get on base and cause havoc guys, the defense first players.. all getting left behind in the minors while guys with power all come up.

This was defenetly one of the greatest series this game after the 9-3 rays win in the first game the dodgers came back in the second game winning 6-5 with two homers and then on this amazing game plenty of homers and 11-10 win I’m a dodgers fan but nice game rays

@@Rooster_kingeven then, theyre stadium is hardly ever full. Even when giants like the Yankees or Dodgers come to town on a weekend. Best they ever really do is 20k+ on a great day.
@Jose C they did over 40k with the Yankees a couple weeks ago and there were way more than 20k at the game yesterday, the stadium was packed except for the nosebleeds. It's no secret that the stadium is a pita to access for all of Tampa. If they move the Rays to Tampa where they should be it would sellout often.
@Rooster_king it's was 21k people at yesterday's game. Not way more than 20k. 40k is fine but that was more of a special event. Tampa is 26th in attendance this year even while having a monstrous season and plenty of special talent that should be drawing fans in. There are plenty of excuses for Tampa, definitely understandable but point is, if they can't sell out vs the dodgers and Yankees all while having the best record in the league... theres no excuse for that. LA traffic is an absolute nightmare, and LAD still average 50k per game, rain or shine, weekend or weekday, vs Yankees or Kansas city, struggling team or not, those fans show up, same for alot of other teams.
@Jose C Is the Dodgers stadium actually in LA? Traffic is expected in any metropolitan area. However, when you locate a team across a bay bridge in another city and close off the majority of your fanbase, what do you think will happen?
