Great job!!! Love your videos. I couldn’t find any of your videos about reinforcement beam over the garage opening how did you set rebars and shore. Hope you can point me to right video if there is one that I missed. Thanks in advance!
Because of how wide those are it is a lintel with 32" high #3 rebar stirrups that are 12" oc and 2 #5 horizontal rebar at the top and bottom of the lintel.
OK, glad it all worked out. But essentially, you feed it all the dimensions and it performed the final sum. I guess what it did that made it easier than just entering it in an Excel spreadsheet is that it was flexible and could accept measurements in different formats composed of feet, inches, and fractional inches using halves, forths, eighths, and sixteenths. I am an electrical engineer and have played with ChatGPT to write software and other queries and it did a good job most of the time. But not something I wouldn't review for accuracy. Engineers still have a job for a few more years learning how to use AI, training them to be experts at what you do, and verifying what they produce. Ironically the jobs of tech people, the field who created AI, are most likely to be replaced by it. I am near retirement and more concerned with the future of my son and daughter, one a mechanical engineer and the other a genetic testing technician, both jobs that could be taken over by AI and robotics. They are a generation which is likely to be worse off that theit parents. The fear of what is to come is a motivation to build an energy efficient and long lasting, off- grid house that my extended family could live comfortably on modest income. I am not for AI if it is used by the super wealthy to further income inequality and destroy the middle class.
loving this series, I'm learning so much. I'm starting my project next year. Thanks for uploading these videos.

Are you south of Ogden, UT near Farmington?
I’m further south. I am in Utah county.
